August 5, 2020 at 10:52 am #117551I just started the new topic for all our details planning. ONLY details will go there. (No “great!” or “thanks” or “I like that” etc. LOL)
THanks!

P.S. If there is anything I missed there, let me know in here. I’ll make sure it gets posted.
Do we have like a description of the Cullings? I couldn’t find one…

August 11, 2020 at 1:06 pm #117817Um, I’m not sure how many of you are still on here, but I’m just going to jump in and ask a few questions.
Are we all writing from first person, or can we use whichever perspective we like for each character? Early on someone mentioned using different fonts/text for each character if each character is in first person, so I’m just wondering if we’re all using first person.
Do we have other religions (besides Christianity) for our countries? Are we just going to use the culture and exclude the religions, or will they be like real religions that people follow but are false? Or maybe they are real, at least one of them…
Can we have some sort of like party/gathering thing about halfway through the games, where all of the players get dressed up and stuff and meet all of their sponsors, supporters and patrons? This could be a really good place for an assassination attempt or a fight to break out or sabotage or players to find out secrets. It’s also a good place to make friends and enemies.
I can probably gather up a summary of the Cullings, just like a description of how the games are played, how people are eliminated, and what happens to the winners. Let me know if you need something different.
What I know in my head and what I believe in my heart are two entirely different things.
August 11, 2020 at 3:18 pm #117847You don’t have to write in first person, you can use whatever perspective you like! But thanks for reminding me about the different fonts! I’m going to do first person, just because I like it. 😉
Hmm. Well, I never thought about that. I think I might base off real religions, or not. But we should definitely incorporate Christianity! You can make one up, or base it off of something. I don’t mind either way. I’m not sure if I’ll have religion a part of my planet, but I probably should in some way. It’s very VERY important. I mean, it’s a matter of life and death.
And that is such a great idea! Maybe then, if our characters haven’t all met yet, they can bump into each other there! And an awesome way to get them wondering about the whole Cullings thing if they aren’t already a bit put out by it all, XD
And BTW, I had an idea for Andor.
Talking in the topic Connecting to Villains, I had an idea for a change in his motive. Ella mentioned a bad-guy named Thanos, and his idea to get rid of half the world’s population to make life better for the other half. Very bad, but very unique.
So then my mind started spireling. What if Andor, instead of trying to inflict pain on the universe, tries to get rid of it? He doesn’t want anybody to go through what he did. So Andor starts getting himself more power so he can “get rid of crime and death for good.” He starts inspecting every person’s records in the world so he can see their backgrounds. Then he sends out men to arrest anyone with a super bad background and to catch criminals in the process, but sometimes innocent or minor-crime people are captured. And sometimes people with really bad pasts, but who have turned a new leaf and are not breaking the law anymore, are taken.
Andor wants to choose people from the Cullings to make a Super Team. A group of people he can use to rid the world blah blah blah I don’t want to keep repeating this, lol. I’m running out of synonyms.
And he keeps getting more and more power, and now he’s struggling even more. He is starting to crave power (synonym?!), like every man does who tastes it, but yet he wants to help mankind. Except he’s doing it all the wrong way.
Also, he should have a hobby that he likes. Any ideas?
But please tell me if you guys would like to do something else or change it! I just had an idea and decided to blurt it out randomly. Any suggestions or anything?

Shoot that fire right through my soul.August 11, 2020 at 3:45 pm #117849I really like that idea! We should definitely stick with that. It gives a lot more character motivation and perspective, and makes a little more sense than just hurting everybody else.
Maybe as a hobby he likes doing scientific research and studying things. I think you mentioned that he did well in school? He might possibly enjoy things like mathematics or physics, or maybe more of social studies and how businesses and companies work… The guy attended college at fifteen, he’s got to have at least some interest in that kind of thing.
You can always feel free to blurt out any ideas you have! We need all we can get!

August 11, 2020 at 5:00 pm #117851@winter_rose & @wingiby-iggiby,
Great ideas you two! I’m for all of them, and that’s some really swag thoughts about Andor.
August 12, 2020 at 8:37 am #117919Yeah, nobody replied in a super long time, so I figured maybe everybody was busy…
Your ideas for Andor are great! Let’s do that!
I’ll put it in the details post.
Yes, I want first person.
Religion: hadn’t thought about that. So what are we doing?
Winter rose: that summary sounds perfect!

You can all read through this and let me know if there’s anything amiss. After you review it I’ll edit out the phrases in parentheses and post it in the other thread. It’s written a little like an informational brochure for viewers.
THE CULLINGS
A comprehensive guide
One player is selected from each country and sent to the Arena, a large space station that orbits a different planet each game. As it has been for past centuries, the Resilience will host the Cullings this election.
Once the players arrive they are settled in the dorms of the host ship. After a tour of the ship, and a day to prepare and practice on the Resilience’s state of the art training course, the players are entered into the first game. The games rotate order each election, and this time around they happen to fall in this sequence: The Obstacles Course, Seeker (Like hide and seek), a battle with mechanical creatures, Tripwire (navigate through an area filled with traps), Tag (It will be way cooler than it sounds), the Race, Infection (NEW), A battle with creatures, Electroball (a team sport… if you have a better name I’m open) the Labyrinth, and The Final Battle.
(We can change or add to this list as needed. The number of games depends on how many players we have, and we might come up with new games we want to add in. Also, if we have a ton of leftover players, maybe they just repeat Tag over and over until enough people are eliminated for them to move on)
The first game eight players are eliminated. The second game six are. The next four, four again, then two, and then one player is subtracted until only eight remain. (We can change the number of player eliminated per game) The Supreme Judges each have the power to grant one player of their choice a single pardon from elimination.
The eight players are assigned by the Judges to a branch of our government they see fit. The players are then trained by the previous leader of that branch, and when the master sees fit, the winner becomes the new leader.

August 12, 2020 at 11:39 am #117934These games need better, more intimidating and impressive names. Half of these are just placeholders, so feel free to pitch any new ideas!

August 12, 2020 at 4:56 pm #117955COOL BEANS! I can’t wait to get started. 😀 Just curious, did you make the number of events eight because that’s how many characters we have all together and we’re all going to win one, or just because it was a random number? ‘Cause I was thinking I’d have either Vika or Aleck lose so we can get a taste of what happens to the eliminated contestants. 🙂
I have an idea. What if each of us make up one or two Judges (excluding Andor, of course), so that we know what they look like and act like and stuff? We don’t have to play our Judge(s), but it’ll make it easier for everyone else to play them.
As for the names of the events, I like The Obstacles Course, Seeker, Tripwire, Race, Infection (especially this one; maybe they can learn how to treat COVID, lol), Labyrinth and The Final Battle. But maybe we could change Tag to Touch or something, just to make it a bit more unique, and do Mechanical Battle and Living Battle or something like that for the other two. 🙂 Good ideas, and I can’t wait to begin for real…
August 12, 2020 at 6:14 pm #117979Thanks!
Yes, I really like Mechanical/Living battle.
I don’t really have a set number for the games, we might need more or less depending on how many players there are. Eight was just in my mind because there are eight branches of the government, so eight winners, and I think I may have done it subconsciously…

August 12, 2020 at 6:18 pm #117982Oh, yes, we should definitely make up the judges. Originally there were only three altogether, but it’d probably good to increase that number.
What I know in my head and what I believe in my heart are two entirely different things.
August 12, 2020 at 7:25 pm #117994Yay! thanks for doing that. It’ll make it easier to remember what and all is going on.
Yeah! We ought to do that (with the judges, I mean). I don’t know if I have enough brain juice to spare right now, so I’m not sure if I’ll do one.
Oh, and if I make one of my characters fail, do they have to die? Because I really like both of them, and I’d rather them live for a little while. And can they become part of the “team” that tries to overthrow Andor? Maybe they could get together when the winners rescue the losers (I just like to be in the action, XD).
And the names sound great! Maybe we could do Tag-touch for the taggish game? Or Scram, or Prod? Just throwing more random stuff out, lol 😛

Shoot that fire right through my soul.August 13, 2020 at 9:17 am #118034You can definitely let your characters stick around. I don’t think that really many people will die, but the eliminated players won’t be allowed to compete. They can definitely still play a role in the story, though!
Maybe that little team can have a cool name, just something to call themselves. I was thinking the Uprising, but that may be to large scale (and too much like the Rebellion…). Any ideas?

August 13, 2020 at 12:52 pm #118057*wipes brow* Phew! Thanks! And I just had a thought: if we are supposed to have eight members in the team (perfect number: not to large of a group, can be split evenly), but one of our characters isn’t chosen, will someone have to get themselves an extra character?
Hmmm… A another name…. Maybe it could be a code of some kind, ya know, like, uh…
*thinking*
*thinking*
Aha!
No.
And…
Menace 64?
Coerce-G38?
I don’t know.
(^that was not a name, BTW)
