Oooooooooooooh! YES! This article is like the silver rays of moonlight knifing through a cloud covered night.
You lit a candle in my mind, a candle among many others of different colored flame. And this one carried its light to each candle, and helped it burn a little more brightly… I think a lot of us authors tend to try to use the…[Read more]

Though I’m not technically with Rillumen anymore… I still have the badge, and I have access to the Rillumen forum. So… possession is nine tenths of the law? Can my participation go toward Rillumen’s word-count?

Turns out that you have more will-power than I do, Josiah. 😜
Good article, because I think there are books we come to find we enjoy for special moments. And then we realize that the events surrounding those moments we enjoy really aren’t so poignant.

Hola! I actually have a story that I believe needs exactly what you offer. I could put in the time… lots of time… to sift through it with my biased mind. But it would be REALLY helpful if I could get another skilled person to help me.
The story has a few problems I know I’ll need to resolve. For instance, there’s one part…[Read more]

I’m decently well read in Sanderson. I’ve read the Mistborn trilogy, two of the Mistborn sequel trilogy, The Reckoners trilogy, The Way Of Kings, Legion (all three novellas), and Snapshot. I wouldn’t recommend all of them, and some of them only with certain warning.
That alternate way of seeing Ender’s Game is not how I think it’s s…[Read more]

I enjoy writing book report type things because I’m solving them. Not that they have problems but they’re holding something right in front of my face that affects me but doesn’t want me to exactly notice. So I look at it, and figure out how… and writing about it is one of the best ways to do that.
That being said I’ve not written many…[Read more]

Those are just terms I came up with. I’m not writing, but I’ll read as though I’m a writer.
I checked out Words Of Radiance, by Brandon Sanderson (book two of the series). Empire, by Orson Scott Card. And I bought The Sun Also Rises, by Hemingway.

Oh good! NaNo is cool. I recently realized that I might not be a writer-(ing) person… but I can be a reading writer. So I went to the library and picked up three books for study. Fiction books. That I expect to enjoy very much. But, study all the same.
When do you graduate?

They way I put it is this: Once you become a writer you are given creative license. A license that can never truly be stripped away. 🙂
Yes, “puzzles” is an inside joke. And yes, you’d better get those sixteen done.

Thank you. My martial arts skills… are… refining. And they are currently this writer’s greatest enemy. So, I really didn’t have a chance. XD The irony.
And yes… investing in kids’ lives. ‘Tis very important. And a most honorable job.

Oh, and I add on… God gave you the ability to work at just about anything. He might not have gifted you to be good at all of them… but if you want to learn something, and you put your mind to it… YOU WILL. By the grace of God… a consistency He gives us.

Hola, friend.
As a guy named Jamal Daubu said, “I don’t care!”
*smiles* Yeah… I’ve heard this story… this life… this struggle. Certain parts of it I relate with, but others not so much. And those words, I don’t care, doesn’t mean that I don’t care about your struggle. Instead, it means I don’t mind that you struggle.
I teach…[Read more]

Ooooooh! Thank you! You got da words!
I thought there was something like that… but point of view is one of the things I’m less educated about, and couldn’t remember exactly what point of view was being primarily used in the examples I had in mind. So again, thank you. Simple words, helpful words.
While you’re here… might I ask…[Read more]
