It’s called The Future Tree, and it’s about sibling rivalry on a quest to harvest fruit that will determine.
This will be the last of my stories to release through Havok for a while, the reason for this being that all my writerly energies have been devoted to The Lore of Yore (my novel WIP), and thus I haven’t written anything for any of Havok’s…[Read more]

Ok, now I’m curious: is that an actual book? Or one of the many unfinished ideas that flow abundantly from an author’s brain?

My flash fiction ‘Milk Abduction’ releases today through Havok. As with all Havok stories, it will be free for one day only, after which a crocodile-shaped spaceship will capture it in its tractor beam and suck it away to the archives. So hurry over to Havok’s website to be swept away in a story that Hope McClellan describes as “really…[Read more]

I’ve been chopping away at the second draft of ‘The Lore of Yore’. At about 60k words, the manuscript is about halfway done and overall a lot better than the original. I’ve joined an online writing group a few months ago that formed through SE, and they’ve given me a lot of helpful feedback. Overall, I think it would be most helpful if you read it…[Read more]

@jennythefaun You forgot the all-important step of telling us how to sign up for your email list. 🙂
I enjoyed Candle and Bread for the Hunger, so I’m definitely interested in seeing what else you’re cooking up. (Also, Jenny, if I ever become famous, you will enjoy the distinction of being one of the first 10 people to read my emails.)

“First-degree mentor murder isn’t universally effective” –> Ha! Yes, especially when so many have done it that it’s become cliched.
I never really thought about the connection between the murder-suicide and Edmond’s choices at the end novel. Thanks for pointing that out.

@duskflower Here’s the link to the first 14k of the second draft of ‘The Lore of Yore’. I’ve expanded it significantly, adding a lot more depth to Keylori’s character and her relationships.

Hi! I’m sorry for being so flaky on you. Is it still at a state where my feedback would be useful? The last two months have been an exhausting mess of school and health issues, but I’m on spring break now (and, as you can guess, my schedule is VERY empty) and would be happy to do some reading if that’s still what you need!

@I-david Speaking of Sanderson and D.O.Ds, what do you think of Vin from Mistborn? She definitely fits the description of a D.O.D, but there’s a lot more to her character than just fighting prowess.
