@taylorclogston, “A quiet person who talks too much.” that sounds like me. My sister says I talk too much and it isn’t even important stuff I talk about.
Again thanks for the input and I will work on these changes when time finds me. (School and a job do become such a black hole.)

@taylorclogston Yes, I’ve been trying to read more. I might try branching out into other genres though…
@parker Right now I’m leaning towards dystopian or high fantasy… And thanks!

@taylorclogston, yeah I wasn’t always an INFJ or I never took the test before, but being an introvert is relatively new. I enjoy being with people, but I tend to hang towards the outskirts of a group or stick to myself. Thanks for the factory info, I guess I did go a bit far with it. I probably could cut a lot of the minor characters like you…[Read more]

@taylorclogston, What are ways that I could fix the whole inspection scene, attack, and world building? Using futuristic America I kinda thought I could get by that one I guess.
Alos, I am concerned about my word count. It is so small and I am afraid that if and when I reduce the chapter size the word count, and thus the book will get smaller a…[Read more]

@taylorclogston, WOW thank you so much! this is exactly the kind of critiques I need. I could see and tell that there are things that need to be fixed, but it’s hard for me to see them. I have not really had someone, other than myself as a writer, edit it. How coincidental is it that you work in a factory. On that note, how did I do with the whole…[Read more]

@taylorclogston, just anything in general. My novella has only been edited (partially) by my siblings and a friend. I am totally open for any critiques that may be found.

@taylorclogston Ah Thank you! I’ll definitely look that book up!
@ariella-newheart Thanks! That helps…I’m usuimg my German’s family to contrast the SS and SA’s brutal racism to regular everyday racism.
I’ve been exposed to very little racism myself. My uncle is pretty racist against Hispanics, though I’ve never had a relationship with him to…[Read more]

@karthmin My ‘theme’ makes for amusing conversations when I try to tell people about it. ‘yeah, I really like the theme of hope. No, it has nothing to do with my name. I just like it is all.’
Though… just writing with nothing in mind? *swallows and shuffles through stacks of outlines* even my ‘fun writing’ has a vague outline of where I’m going…[Read more]

@taylorclogston @jane-maree Man, wish you all lived closer!
Also, just a fair warning to everyone that the site I linked to might not be the best place to register through. It has information about past OSR events, but I would look it up on Facebook and register through there instead.
I used the site (because I have no Facebook) and I think…[Read more]

Hm…. I just re-took the quiz again, waiting to see if the email will show up in my inbox. If it doesn’t, I suppose we can let Daeus know and maybe he can take a look at it.

Huh, then maybe try getting a different email and doing it again? Like, use a gmail instead of a yahoo, and the like? Or an icloud email?

Yeah, the italics aren’t my favorite. I already use a lot of italics for thoughts during writing, so to do the whole prologue in italics…. yeah, no. Just trying it out. 😉
There’s nothing really vital in here, it’s just a little thing to add to the moral message of the story, and *grins* because it sounds awesome. 😉 I usually…[Read more]

Yeah, Discord is totally not on my history…. neither is Sword Art Online or some random dragon-making game…. *nervous laughter*
As for POV–I want the feel to be dark, and slightly cynical, so… I’m still working on that. It shouldn’t be to hard, considering how cynical I usually am… hehe…
And I’ve changed the last…[Read more]

Hello, @taylorclogston ! Good to see you here! I’m also new to this forum and a fantasy writer as well! That’s awesome about your novella. What’s it called? 🙂

@taylorclogston, sort of sci-fi? Oh boy. I am not good with all the specific types. I guess, Futuristic Sci-fi. Is that a thing? Well, I know it’s sci-fi and it takes place in the future, so… Yeah.

Hey @taylorclogston! Long time no see. 🙂 Good to hear you’re still writing–what’s the premise of the novel you published last year?
I really like K.M. Weiland’s “Structuring Your Novel” for novel structure (it’s an expanded version of the Three Act Structure). If you’re looking for nonorthodox tactics, you may like Robert McKee’s “Story,” but…[Read more]
