Ah, okay. I understand. Let me add to what I wrote.
The fact that we’re not living for this life does not mean our life here is pointless. Do you think our all-powerful, loving God would leave you here to suffer if your life wasn’t worth living? The only reason this rotten earth hasn’t been destroyed and remade yet is that…[Read more]

What I read: Fawkes by Nadine Brandes, which I’m really excited about because I’ve been wanting to read it for forever. I loved the concept and the characters so much and it is absolutely one of my favorite books now. If you haven’t read it, go read it now! And if you have…rave about it with me. 😛
What I wrote: Nothing substantial. Mostly tri…[Read more]

I’m no expert, but that sounds like depression. I’ll be praying for you. It’s okay to feel fed up with not feeling things and that is NOT how it is going to be forever. Keep asking God to break you out of that–He always hears and answers one way or another.
Also, I don’t know the details of your situation, but if people are…[Read more]

Hello, guild people! 🙂
Once my writing teacher told me that every writer had a super power. Something that they were especially good at. Maybe it was wordsmithing, or world building, or description, or connecting readers with a character, or creating a sense of suspense, etc.
So, since I’m still meeting you all, I wanted to know what you think…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Really? 😀 Yeah, not many people know Alexander sadly. He’s not Tolkien or Lewis, but I loved his characters. I think he may be my favorite author (in a “friend” author sort of way–I feel…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Interesting! I’ve never used an editing software. What is it like?
And yes, whenever you want commiseration about writing projects, I’ll probably be able to relate and offer you some. xD

Okay… in my last post I laid out an argument that theme is often misrepresented. I then put forth a definition for what theme is, defining it by the plot, characters, their arcs, and the intricate patterns of the character interactions in a world.

@taylorclogston Oof, I forgot to reply to this earlier.
What I read- Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. My friend Aislinn recommended it to me and I got it from the library. I’d never heard of the book before even though it’s supposed to be a classic. ‘Twas very good. I was able to empathize with the characters and the story kept me turning…[Read more]

@taylorclogston Hey, thanks! XD You don’t have to be worried about joining a conversation. “The more, the merrier.”
Yeah, totally. Puns have to be very spontaneous to work well, and people will often try to tell them deliberately instead (which is where the effect of humor is lost).
