Hmm, something that horrifies me…. to be honest, I don’t really know. I suppose blind ignorance or forced ignorance by a powerful cause is horrifying, if that counts. Being forced to withhold a certain amount of naivety because of some power ruling over you doesn’t sound fun. I don’t really think there’s much that I’ve been…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon started the topic So… I'm an INTJ with an ENFP Protagonist. in the forum Characters 6 years, 8 months ago
To put it short – we need help. Somehow, I, the elusive and mystical analytical machine The INTJ, has ended up with an ENFP protagonist.
Help?
I am not a feelings-person, nor do I know many feelings-people who are this type of person. So yes. Meet Kirin – the fiercely independent and goal-oriented brain-child of mine who just had to end up this…[Read more]

I’ve read both the ‘condensed’ version of Les Miserables, watched the movie, and I’m working my way through the brick. 😉 It’s a wonderful story, and Fantine’s descent is certainly to be noted.
Frankenstein is on my to-be-read list, though I have listened to some of the musical and it’s quite nice. I’m looking forward to see how exactly Mary…[Read more]

Okay, well first off I’m going to recommend watching some of Hello Future Me’s great video essays on fantasy governments on Youtube. They’re really great. 😉
And secondly, I’m going to echo Evelyn for a moment. Values. Values are possibly the single most important thing of a government – because in essence, a government is a group…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic Is it okay to write about magic? in the forum Research and Worldbuilding 6 years, 8 months ago
Alright. *cracks knuckles*
Okay, so first off, I’m just going to give a total disclaimer – I love magic in books. So yes. I’m a big fan of good implementation of magic in all it’s properties in books and movies.
But now, let’s crack down on exactly what ‘good implementation’ means. First off – magic, defined by the wonderful internet:…[Read more]

Unfortunately, tis not written yet. 🙁 But I’m getting around to it. I have bits and pieces here and there…. but nothing complete or even a whole chapter.

*appears in cloud of smoke*
I have been summoned.
Anyhow. Also a disclaimer like Hope said, not every INTJ will react this way. But ye, here’s mine.
1. How is she likely to act under intense pressure (like, life-and-death pressure)?
Under life and death type-pressure, calm on the outside and probably crazy on the inside. We’re masters of…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic Mental Illness/Disorders In Christian Fiction in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 9 months ago
Not at all. I just think that in a general sense, a lot of mental illnesses are caused by self-obsession. It’s a very generalized thing on a subjective problem, so of course it can’t apply to everything. I know people that trust God more than I can possibly imagine and still struggle with depression and other things, but still…[Read more]

Haha, I wrote this late at night so I totally spaced out exterior causes for some reason. *facepalm*
So yes, I agree with you that when a mental illness is caused by something exterior to the person themselves, I think it’s probably less of our human nature popping in and more of our fight or flight instincts kicking in(Or….…[Read more]

Finally coming back to answer. XD
Before I dig deep into what I mean, let me ask you a question.
When a person, especially a non-Christian person, has a mental illness, who do they think about the most?
I’ll let you think about that for a moment and move onto analyzing. So. When I say I believe that mental illnesses, in…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic Research request for info on broken bones and what you can do with them. in the forum Research and Worldbuilding 6 years, 10 months ago
My brother broke his collar bone, so did my sister. It’s very painful, but it’s not too bad as long as you take car of it. My brother was sent home with a sling and some pain meds from the ER, and that’s all. He couldn’t do anything strenuous for a long time with it, but it wasn’t life threatening. I’m no expert on it however, I’d…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic The definition of "clean" fiction in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 10 months ago
That was a bit confusing, let me clarify.
I like complex stories. I like stories that have a lot of complex, detailed, and hard to solve problems. Typically, “clean” Christian fiction doesn’t have that, which is what I meant by it not being as whitewashed but still more in the general “clean” genre that is defined by Christian fiction…[Read more]

Sarah Inkdragon replied to the topic The definition of "clean" fiction in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 10 months ago
Like Princess-Foo said, there’s many different definitions of cleanliness. Would you classify Lord of the Rings as perfectly clean? Sure, there’s no sex scenes, swearing, or super excessive violence, but it still tackles very dark themes at times and it also has characters like Gollum or Orcs that can be quite scary or even demonic at times. But…[Read more]

I’m going to speak from a very personal perspective on this, so please take everything I say with a grain of salt and try to filter out my own bias before taking my word as a correct assumption. This is merely my opinion, and it’s highly opinionated. So just be aware of that.
I don’t think we handle it well. Not at all.
Why? For…[Read more]

Kirin:
#1 “Anger was better than tears, better than pain, better than guilt.”
#2 “My purpose is greater than my pain.”

Why thank you. *bows*
Hmm, my favorite part of fantasy is probably the capabilities of using morality in it. To put it simply–fantasy is unique. You can use that to make so many more moral and ethical situations and questions arise that you can normally(in my opinion XD), and that’s something I love. I’m all about the…[Read more]
