Hewwo. So, yeah, sorry I haven’t really been active this time around, there have been large issues. I’m only just beginning to cope with a new schedule and have a buttload of stuff I need to get done in a day and plenty of other community writing projects that I don’t have time for and I’ve been exhausted every day cause I’ve been overworking…[Read more]

What could we do with a sarcastic/never-serious voice for the character? Like an unreliable narrator?

@literatureforthelight Just restaraunt tea XD. I don’t usually like tea but after 2 weeks of having nothing else to drink I kinda warmed up to it. I was on a mission trip in Hong Kong.

WARNING: POTENTIAL LONG POST
SOOOO big thing, I’ve got a story in outlining. And here’s the thing: I’ve already written it, but that was like, a long time ago, and it’s horrible. So I’m COMPELTELY REWRITING IT, MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
So here’s the problem, and I’ll start with my basic conflict.
The main conflict is that every week or new moon or s…[Read more]

Samuel replied to the topic Backstory in the forum Announcements 7 years, 7 months ago
For me the best part of backstory is hiding it until it’s convenient for you to reveal it—making the reader KNOW there’s something they don’t know about this character, and making them WANT to know it. But that’s the hard part—A) Making them want it and B) revealing it at the opportune moment.
But what we SHOULDN’T do (and what I’ve made the…[Read more]

Well I’m definitely somewhat late here, but I’m good with anything. I’ve written urban fantasy, realistic fantasy (my favorite genre), high fantasy, some sci-fi, contemporary, thriller (not scary thriller, more like Dirk Pitt)…..So whatever you guys feel like rolling with.
YAS Owl City’s lyrics are CRAZY genius. The Adam Young Scores are also…[Read more]

@noah-litle Right, they’re not boxes. People legitimately fit into the dozen or so different categories. The system was designed for psychologists and the like anyways, not for social interaction. (I did take it on 16personalities btw, I was labeled ENFJ. *shrugs* Don’t know how accurate that is)

Samuel replied to the topic MBTI Roll Call!! in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 7 months ago
I’ve heard a lot of people from movies and books are ENTP…Or maybe it was ENFP?? I think ENTP. Joker, Iron Man, Willy Wonka….
I also heard something interesting though, a friend (who’s been studying the MBTI system for seven years) said that your type has nothing to do with the test…It has to do with your cognitive functions. LIke, the test…[Read more]

@rosemarylouise I think the tests are pretty inaccurate….There’s nothing really wrong with whatever type the test gives you though. It’s just a type.

I’m looking for someone to draw a character for my current WIP. If anyone is interested let me know.
It may or may not be hard, I’m not an artist so I wouldn’t know, but you won’t actually be drawing a person, you’ll be drawing an exosuit that the MC uses throughout the book. Describing it may be an…interesting task so I’ll do that after and if…[Read more] -

TGZ was dramatic and extreme period. Didn’t the guy build a ziggurat on his deck and worship it or something? Was a great story though.

Words of wisdom? Uh, yeah.
LEAVE. It’s your best chance of survival.
But should you choose to risk your life to join in our insanity, here’s some choice words: If you want to insert HTML markup into your text, assuming you know it, make sure you’re in the “Text” tab of the text box instead of the “Visual” one. Learned that the hard way.

I’m writing a scene in a school right now, and having not been in a school since kindergarten I wouldn’t know these things…For those of you who are or have been public schooled, do schools let kids stay after school hours to study? Or do the doors lock after the bell?
