    Hey Rillumenites!

It just so happens that our beloved guildmaster is away for the week (doing many exciting, writerly things). So, a thousand pardons, but y’all will have to put up with me again. 🙂 So if you have any questions over the week, go ahead and direct ’em my way.

This week’s activity will be simple since we’re working hard to finish our death scene for the contest, but the idea is that it will help us strengthen our contest entry. Our goal is to effectively portray the emotional impact of a death.

So here’s the scoop… The scene that we’re writing is about a person with Alzheimer’s from the perspective of a loved one watching them deal with the disease. (if you’re unfamiliar with how this disease works, Corky gives a great explanation in our death scene prompt doc. Death Scene Prompt )

Here’s how we all can pitch in and help the writers of our prompt: (also feel free to jump over to the doc and help them write!)

    – Come up with 5 unique details describing the emotion of someone watching their loved one deal with Alzheimer’s. These can be gestures/facial expressions or actions.

    – Come up with 5 unique details describing the emotion of someone after the death of their loved one dealing with Alzheimer’s. These can also be gestures/facial expressions or actions.

Okay and now I’m gonna go have a good cry, because this is sad. BUT if we can all come up with some really great details, it may help inspire our writers and give our story entry the emotional impact we’re aiming for.

Oh and I highly suggest heading over to the doc and reading the short blurb that’s been written for some idea of the story’s setting that may help you come up with some unique details. (for example, if the story was set in a coffee shop run by the person with Alzheimer’s, the loved one may scowl at the person with Alzheimer’s favorite mug. Or they may snatched the mug and throw it against the wall, only to come back later to pick up the broken pieces.)

Let’s do this, Rillumenites! Can’t wait to see the finished entry!
