It seems like she’ll live with a bit of care, so that’s good. If she survives, I’m gonna have to figure out how to make a chicken prosthetic leg.

Yeah, I keep telling myself that even a little progress is still progress. I was just hoping to hit 20 thousand instead of ten.

Since I’m discovery writing, my characters often say strange things where I have no idea where it came from. So I have to add backstory or figure out a way for it to fit into the story’s world. One thing is a “yard sale” like event, those whole towns will partake in, often along the town’s main street. However, only bartering is allowed and the children may steal items that are on a certain cloth, if caught though they have to pay the owner a penny for each attempt.

Have you been doing much world-building?

Oh good, I’ve signed up. Hey, it’s free. Might as well see if they have any useful information. 😁

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I’ve had a long week. We’ve had multiple raccoon attacks on our quail and chickens. Just yesterday I found a chick with a leg missing. Though I’ve been working with chickens for years, I’ve learned so much this week; mainly first aid.

I’ve kept up with my 100-for-100 by cramming out the bare minimum before bed, so not my best work. Lol. I’ve managed to come up with a few world elements that I love, so there’s that.

Don’t know if you’d be interested, but I saw this and remembered you were writing sci-fi.  Science Fiction Writers’ Week

Yeah, some characters seem to almost put themselves together and it feels like a breeze to write them.

My main character was the whole inspiration for the story so she’s definitely my favorite. Funny that both of the characters you mentioned as being protective because my main character is literally a guard.😆 It’s a forced protectiveness at first, but she slowly grows to actually like the person she’s guarding and they end up treating each other like family. Kind of an enemies to friends scenario.

Yeah, I’ve been counting character pages where I try to get a better idea of their background, traits and POV voice. Honestly, idea pages are some of my favorite things to do.

Oh, don’t know if you already use this, but I use this site to find cool names based of their meanings and race.               https://meaning-of-names.com/

Do have a favorite character for your current project?

OK!!  This time I know I had responded! It just didn’t send?

From now on I’ll watch this post like a bluebird watches her neighbors’ nest! No mistakes!

    *deep breath* ….Anyways.

I’ve heard of a lot of people who are having trouble with amazon shipping right now. People are usually pretty understanding about these things.

Hey, if you need help brainstorming help just let me know.

I’m pretty sure that any writing relating to your story goes, so a summary totally counts.

I’ve been babysitting for the past two days so my writing has been pretty sub-par. Hoping to writing something a little higher quality today. So far I’ve only taken one grace day because I was cooking literally all day.

I’ve decided to add another character for pov sake and now I have a main cast of seven, but only three have a pov. I know I should probably combine some character roles but this is the “dumb draft” so for now I’m rolling with it.

Oh my mashed potatoes, I thought I had replied days ago! Apparently, I only replied in my head; or just never clicked send. 🤦

    Anyways……

I was more than happy to share about your launch. How did it go?

How are you doing on your 100-for-100?

Haha, see I can’t even tell the difference. All I know is that Batman is DC and the old versions were the best.

    True, true, I’m just a world-building junkie 😆

🎉Your book launch tomorrow! 💐  Good luck, and let me know if there’s anything I can do.

I’ve never watched the Smallville show, not a big Marvel fan. Is it any good?

That’s funny because I haven’t read Mistborn yet.  I hate it when the library only has part of a series. I started reading the X-Wing series only to find my library just had the first and eighth books.🤦

That’s actually pretty smart and if you don’t mind, I think I’ll follow that example. I get caught up with making sure things fit perfectly together. Well that, plus I never seem to stop world-building.🙃

If you ever want to do a writing session together, just let me know. It’s ok if you don’t.

    @r-m-archer   Good, I’ll tag you in it.😃

Hmmm, my magic system is more nature-based. Do you know how the stereotypical superhero backstory has them falling into a vat of toxic waste, but instead of dying, they get superpowers? Well, in mine there’s a certain mineral that has toxic properties, some who come in contact with it become ill, develop minor mutations, or die, while others seem to gain otherworldly powers or abilities. There are those, especially among the poor, that take the risk because the crown puts those who gain abilities to work, sometimes in the palace itself.

I don’t know why, but your description made me think of a sci-fi version of Elantris; which is an amazing book, and if you haven’t read it I would highly recommend it. I really like books that delve into the political intrigue of the world.

Do you have a particular plotting method you’re using or is it more of a skeleton draft plotting?

Wow! 🎉That must be so exciting! Hey do you have any promotional images for your book, because if you don’t mind I could share it on my social?

I however, have never finished anything, lol. I get to distracted by shiny new ideas. Which leads to what i’m currently doing which is discovery writing my way through an epic-fantsy duology. This one is particularly rife with war, trauma, unpredictable magic, and grief. 🙂

What type of sci-fi are you writing?

Oh goodness I just noticed that you responded!🤦 Sorry.

My family didn’t seem to notice, or care, about the change in Ahsoka either. Not to mention that whoever wrote the story didn’t know his pancakes from his flap-jacks when it came the history of the Jedi and Star Wars as a whole. Just, UGGGHHh, absolutely no attention to detail and a total lack of respect for the stories that came before. ……..Yeah you’re right…just gotta calm down…..Hakuna Matata ✨

Also, where can I find your fan-fic?

Yay, another person who prefers the originals! ヽ(^ᗜ^)ノ

My Favorite character would have to be Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Though Ahsoka is definitely in my top ten favorite characters. “The Mandalorian” doesn’t degrade my opinion of her because I personally don’t consider Disney canon (except for “Rouge One” of course which was amazing). I mean they didn’t even get her face patterns right! Millions of dollars and they couldn’t make her live action version accurate?🤦

Your fan-fic sounds so fun! Do you still have the doc public because I’d love to read it?

Hi Emma. 🎉Welcome to Story Embers!

I love Star Wars with a passion.  Do you have a synopsis for your Fan-fic or is it still in the  planning stages?

Oh and which movie and characters are your favorite? 🙂

@imwritehere1920    Yay, another Star Wars fan. Though I must admit I’m not a fan of the new stuff. My favorite character is definitely Obi-Wan Kenobi. My favorite background character though is Zam Wessel.

I’ve never seen the movie. I’ve got a huge number of movies I need to watch that are based off books I’ve read. lol. Anna and the Kind of Siam, Pride and prejudice, Jane Eyre, and  The Moonstone just to name a few.

I write in a few genres, or at least try too. but my favorite to write for is Fantasy. Mainly because I can make all the rules and the “flux-capacitor” effect usually come in to play. 🙂

I don’t know how old you are but if you’re an older teen I’d definitely recommend Elantris and Legion by Brandon Sanderson. Both have some more mature scenes and/or themes but are my favorite of his.

@imwritehere1920  Welcome to Story Embers! I know you’ll love it here.
I love medieval fantasy too. Have you read “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court”?
If you like dystopian mixed with some super villain action could I suggest The Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson.
    Do you like Star Wars?

I tend to ask a lot of questions. Here have some doughnuts while you think them over. 🙂  🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩
