Now it’s eating my posts, too. *facepalm*

    Idea pages are definitely fun!

Cool! I’ve been using babynames.com of late, but I’ve used a variety of naming sites; I don’t recall if that one’s on my list yet.

That’s a really tough question, since I enjoy all of this book’s characters so much. XD Alaric has come the most naturally in my outline. I understand how to execute his internal conflict more fully than some of the others, and it’s an interesting conflict in general. Plus he’s sweet and protective and I like him as a character in general. But my side character Artemis has been pretty compelling lately, with an interesting internal conflict of his own and an enjoyable balance in his personality between impulsive, teasing, lighthearted and more serious, protective (*cough* Sensing a theme here? XD), and cautious.

How about you? Do you have a favorite character in your WIP?

Yeah, some characters seem to almost put themselves together and it feels like a breeze to write them.

My main character was the whole inspiration for the story so she’s definitely my favorite. Funny that both of the characters you mentioned as being protective because my main character is literally a guard.😆 It’s a forced protectiveness at first, but she slowly grows to actually like the person she’s guarding and they end up treating each other like family. Kind of an enemies to friends scenario.

Yes! And I’ve actually had a lot of that with this book, which is nice.

Nice! Enemies-to-friends can be a lot of fun. 😀

The challenge still going well for you?

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I’ve had a long week. We’ve had multiple raccoon attacks on our quail and chickens. Just yesterday I found a chick with a leg missing. Though I’ve been working with chickens for years, I’ve learned so much this week; mainly first aid.

I’ve kept up with my 100-for-100 by cramming out the bare minimum before bed, so not my best work. Lol. I’ve managed to come up with a few world elements that I love, so there’s that.

Don’t know if you’d be interested, but I saw this and remembered you were writing sci-fi.  Science Fiction Writers’ Week

No worries. That’s rough. :/ I hope you’re able to resolve that issue quickly.

I’ve definitely had weeks like that, lol. But the minimum is still progress. It’s awesome you’ve developed world pieces that you love! What’s your favorite world element so far?

I actually just saw that in my inbox this morning, lol, but I might have to give it a closer look now. Thanks!

It seems like she’ll live with a bit of care, so that’s good. If she survives, I’m gonna have to figure out how to make a chicken prosthetic leg.

Yeah, I keep telling myself that even a little progress is still progress. I was just hoping to hit 20 thousand instead of ten.

Since I’m discovery writing, my characters often say strange things where I have no idea where it came from. So I have to add backstory or figure out a way for it to fit into the story’s world. One thing is a “yard sale” like event, those whole towns will partake in, often along the town’s main street. However, only bartering is allowed and the children may steal items that are on a certain cloth, if caught though they have to pay the owner a penny for each attempt.

Have you been doing much world-building?

Oh good, I’ve signed up. Hey, it’s free. Might as well see if they have any useful information. 😁
