(( I may have forgotten about this for a while, my apologies. Do they usually go this slow? Also sorry for making this so long, I kinda got carried away and couldn’t bring myself to shorten it.))
Maya awoke to bleak nothingness. No noise, no light, and no feeling. Everything was dark and fuzzy like someone had painted her vision jet black using…[Read more]

When you change your pic and username at the same time so everyone is wondering, who is that guy🤔, then yes. Someone does. 😋
-
@pookiemonster, I changed my forum signature at the same time too. I’m thinking of changing my name back, but I’m not sure if that will be even more confusing.

@elizabeth No offense but ………… I absolutely DESPISE “The Last Jedi” with a burning passion that can not, and will never, die out.
But hey, to each their own.乁(ᴗ◞ ᴗ)ㄏ
“Return of the Jedi” is great, it’s my third favorite. 🙂 Though my favorite is “The Phantom Menace”.

@nuetrobolt I know I’ve been very inactive lately. Not for a lack of interest though. I just have my time divided between a lot of things right now.🙃
@corkybookworm @missfaeriekaiti I wasn’t notified either. The only reason I did know about the word war is that I subscribed to the topic. Which is what I would recommend everyone else do so y…[Read more]

Loved the inclusion of “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
Natural outcomes is sometimes hard for me. Like what’s natural? People getting what they deserve; sowing what they reap? Or, bad people sometimes getting away and good people getting hurt? I personally think it’s a mixture of both, on earth anyways. We all get our dues after death. How do you…[Read more]

I’ve been waiting for this article, and it’s great! It really got me to thinking about my protagonist and his struggles.
I’ve never heard the defamiliarization concept before. I want to make my story an allegory, but am stuck on the right way to go about it. I’ll be sure to look more into this.

@taylorclogston I had no idea there was so many points supporting this.
Though I have heard of the concept before.
My brother actually mentioned that to me a while back. But he didn’t give any facts he just kept laughing and saying “Jar-Jar’s a SITH!” 😄
Thanks for pointing all this out. I’ll need to look into it. I don’t spend any time l…[Read more] -

@his-bard I agree, Disney was definitely a step backward for Star Wars. The only one I like is “Rogue One”. which I was pleasantly surprised with.
While I do want an Obi-wan Kenobi movie (he’s one of my favorite characters), I have a bad feeling they’d just butcher it.
Why would everything Jarjar’s fault? lol, I know most people HATE him. Bu…[Read more]

Welcome to Story Embers! You don’t know me, and I don’t know you….SO HI (╭☞ᵔᗜᵔ)╭☞
I’m also previously home-schooled and a self-taught writer. Except I’ve only been writing for a few years. 🙂
I really like this line of your philosophy “My pen is my sword, and with it, I write God’s story.”
btw, how do you feel about Star Wars? *sits forward intently*

I’ve never heard of Frank Peretti. Or of anything ever being considered Christian Horror. lol. But I’ll be sure to look into it.
Yeah, I’ve finished the book. It definitely had that 70’s Star Wars feel and I liked that. I’m going to read the second book next month. Have you read Tarkin? It’s my favorite Star Wars book.

Welcome Back! I’ve wondered when you’d come back. 😃
“So what’s going on?” Well the first thing that comes to mind is the announcement about the “Fawkes” article series that will be going on in the first week in May. Never read it myself, but I just ordered the book and can’t wait.

@theresa-play
Exactly! Horror makes no sense, especially to a christian. Why would some one want to fill their mind with that kind of stuff? When I say I won’t read romance, I mean the genre itself. I’m ok with romance being a sub plot in a book, just not the main plot. You know what I mean?
You obsess over Star Wars too!? YAY

@theresa-play I’ve never heard of Chuck Black before but I just looked him up and his books look interesting, so it’s going into my tbr. But between you and me there’s over 100 books on that list.😋
“What do you read?” is such an open question! How to answer? Basically I’ll read anything but romance and horror.
