Hi, nice to meet you! I’m Lily. I love the stories you came up with! Especially number three.
Aww, what’s your kitty’s name? I used to have a Calico cat named *wait for it* Patches! (Yeah, I wasn’t really original as a kid, but strangely, it fit.😄) I also like your avatar.

Hi @imwritehere1920 & everyone else here 🙂
(I’ve only joined the Story Embers forums recently.)
@obrian-of-the-surface-world mentioned this particular forum to me – looks like you’re all having fun playing (being scouted out by?) with the squirrels. There are no squirrels where I am, but I’m pretty sure there’s a possum living in the…[Read more]

Thanks for the response Brian!
I do use a variety of these. I love planting cryptic surprises and especially planting double-meaning clues that do the “red herring thing”.
I think this probably encapsulates what many writers do when they “foreshadow”, no specific techniques, just dropping hints.
Thanks for the…[Read more]

Noah, I just heard. So sorry, man.
Make sure you get your Vit D levels up take Zinc and if you can get some Ivermectin soon.
Praying for you, my friend!-
Thanks man, it isn’t that bad, but I’m getting tired of it. 🙂

Let me know how you are doing through this.
I’m going to pray for you right now if you don’t mind. Some people say they will pray, but never actually do it, so I tend to do it in written form, for scriptures say when any 2 or 3 are gathered in agreement in His name, He hears us.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as…[Read more]

No, I haven’t seen either movies, though I read the book (actually, that was a while back. Probably needs a reread soon.) Who did the non-Netflix version of the movie?
Oh yeah, the rabbits in our backyard are pretty lean too. When they sit up on their hind legs, they almost look like mini kangaroos!

Hi Lily,
The version I saw was actually made in 1978. The animation is mixed with the Legend at the beginning appearing almost like Aztec art, and then shifting into more traditional animation with a blend of watercolour backgrounds. The main character “Hazel” is voiced by John Hurt.
Here’s the blurb.

Why thank you very much, Lily! I am happy to oblige. These 10 just bounced into my head like a bunch of floppy bunnies. I did visit your friend Hannah’s page and put in an additional two entries there in response to her challenge. I did love the water picture she put there.

We used to have domestic cotton-tail rabbits, which were usually a little floppy when they hopped around on the grass. On my granddad’s farm, however, there were wild jackrabbits that were lean and had longer legs and sort of bounded through the fields, chewing on my granddad’s cotton. These were a menace. Have you ever seen the movie Watership…[Read more]

For Sale: Baby Shoes. Never Worn.
Lately, I’ve become obsessed with six word stories (and no, in case you were wondering, I didn’t come up with the above story; wished I did, though 😊. According to rumors, it’s a famous short story written by Hemingway, though, not proven).
I really like the idea of compacting a whole story just to a handful…[Read more]
