“What kind of crazy, stupid kid…?” Connel quirked an eyebrow at the girl contentedly licking her fingers on top of the table while everyone sort’ve awkwardly avoided that area, giving her about a five yard radius of completely free space except for this one person with Einstein hair. With a snicker, he turned away and slipped through to the edg…[Read more]

Wh- Noy. Again.
The thought came from the solemn man who had switched his thinking to another language. The increasingly annoying one with the air of mystery swirling around him. Malvat ran his tongue over his teeth, doing his best to pretend like he hadn’t heard.
“There are probably better ways to die,” Alessio muttered. Louder he said, “Wel…[Read more]

( @kimlikesart @this-is-not-an-alien @joelle-stone sorry for the delay, I got really into writing my own story again and forgot about this one)
“How do you control your fire?” Alessio asked finally.
Brendin thought a moment, glancing down at where the black mark was hidden just under his sleeve. He hadn’t always carried the syne, he knew…[Read more]

(Sorry it took me so long to post, my family’s elderly dog got sick all of a sudden and was quite a handful to take care of. We ended up putting him down. He was 15, we had him for a good 9 years)
“How?” Alessio asked softly, a guarded tint in his eyes.
“Any way I can,” Brendin answered honestly. “Just tell me what you need.”…[Read more]

Well, Jericho is pretty far on the wary side given her previous experiences (her student betrayed her, which led to the deaths of everyone she loved) and she’s learned the dangers of serving someone and how she can be used. Brendin has also been rather horribly abused, and the fact that Malvat a) looks resemblant of a wyvern and…[Read more]

She knows… the words whispered through his brain like toule curtains on a night breeze.
Malvat felt his friendliness begin to dissipate, but he kept his smile on his face and his wing lowered. “Even if I could reduce my size, lady (*cough cough* he doesn’t say this mockingly like it’s normally used today. Think about how Aragorn addresses…[Read more]

Brendin could see that the boy was panicking. Small flames began to form along his arms, dancing and flickering around Brendin’s hands. He quelled them, drawing the fire away from Alessio and funneling it away into his Syne. Slowly the boy calmed and returned to reality, anxiously glancing around. Trying to see if he’d set something on fire…[Read more]

Do you think I should post Jericho’s reaction to Malvat or wait for Cathy to post so I can have Brendin doing stuff too?

Haltingly the maiden came out of the passage and met Malvat’s eyes. “My dear Malvat,” she said, her voice soft but strong enough to reach all ears. “Do you not yet know it is rude to call humans ‘mankind’? It will not do.”
She doesn’t wish to make me angry, Malvat thought, studying her. Yet she wants to make it clear that she is able to take car…[Read more]

Does Malvat still understand? I don’t know…
Nope. He’ll be really confused and kinda mad and kinda impressed. 🙂 He speaks all the languages of his world, but since he’s not in his world, he won’t understand that one.
(And Nithel was a star once? SO COOL!)
My hope is that Jericho has sufficiently distracted Malvat tha…

“Get. Out. Of my head.”
Brendin squeezed Alessio’s shoulder gently to try and bring back the lad’s focus. “Alessio, lower your bow,” he repeated. He recognized his expression, the panic and fear and anger. The nausea from another mind invading your own.
Memories flashed through Brendin’s mind, filled with screams once more, but this time t…[Read more]

I cannot answer you.
The thought came from the older Bearer. Odd.
Memories sashayed through the mankind’s mind, ones of villages burning, of people screaming – Malvat was taken aback. Had someone else used this Bearer for ill?
I was made into a warrior, a murderer. But I was someone else before. And now I do not know who I…[Read more]

His eyes swept the small group. “Who are you?”
Brendin met the reptile’s gaze but did not speak. I cannot answer you. His thoughts drifted to memories of his time as a Maere and faint screams echoed in his minds, images of bright, blazing fires as villages burned to the ground. I was made into a warrior, a murderer. But I was someone else bef…[Read more]

Malvat looked back to the mankind as the sudden protective urge swept over him like an eruption. Were they brothers? No… friends. New friends. Odd that they’d developed such a bond.
I have nothing to hide from you. I am afraid. That’s what he had said. Was he lying? While Malvat considered lies extremely useful at times, most of the time they…[Read more]

One of the mankind whirled around Malvat as he landed. The dragon kept his wings spread to make himself look as big as possible. The mankind couldn’t be much older than a boy, certainly not as old as Malvat himself. He held a red-fletched arrow to the string of his bow. The tip was pointed at Malvat’s eye.
Ha, Malvat thought. I could burn him t…[Read more]
