“What kind of crazy, stupid kid…?” Connel quirked an eyebrow at the girl contentedly licking her fingers on top of the table while everyone sort’ve awkwardly avoided that area, giving her about a five yard radius of completely free space except for this one person with Einstein hair. With a snicker, he turned away and slipped through to the edge of the hall watching quietly in the background.

“Make sure to save some cake for everyone else,” Mr Bold-Enough-To-Enter-Her-Table mumbled as she dug into the sweet creamy goodness. Meira shrugged and tried to say something with her mouth stuffed. She swallowed with a large gulp of whatever beverage was sitting nearest and wiped some of the frosting off with the back of her hand.
“It’s sure scrummy. Oi, who’re you?” She shrugged again, saluting sharply, showing her palm in greeting. “Live well! Meira Kalyani-silver is at your service!”
Failing to get very much of a response she gently poked the side of his head with a frosting-smudged finger.
