December 13, 2018 at 7:30 pm in reply to: So I guess I’ll just introduce myself. Hi, I’m John. #65900Thanks. Now mind you it’s a fairly rare concept as far as I know,(I’ve never actually seen it anywhere else. Haha) But it is about 53 points short of perfect and ignore the terrible grammar, there’s sure to be a whole boatload of it…
Ill fix it again and repost the link.
Oh and also, though it may not be readily sensed, the story is to be a twist-to-Christian(I do everything that way.) and is not done by a long long long shot.

More specifically England(Which wasn’t much at that time.) France, Damascus, Jerusalem etc…

Hi, I’m John. #65459December 12, 2018 at 12:17 am in reply to: Completely Random Thread That Is To Continue The Any Guys Out There Thread… #65393Oh and sorry I’m advance. I put one use of the word “Hell” in it. Forewarned is forearmed. I don’t usually ever do that(cause I don’t like foul language at all, and my parents raised me not to) but the character needed the hard gritty feel and that seemed to help..

December 12, 2018 at 12:13 am in reply to: Completely Random Thread That Is To Continue The Any Guys Out There Thread… #65391First I love Two Steps From Hell. And second, I Love Two Steps From Hell. At least the music I’ve heard by them so far. Victory is my favorite song out of their stuff.
No offense taken, I feel the same way and am trying to figure out how to share the link without sharing my life. It should work now by the way.

Hi, I’m John. #65352So my main work in progress isn’t ready to be read (even though it’s well on its way.) until it gets to a point that is some ways further along. It isn’t quite far enough to pack the punch that it is to eventually have.
However, I have some scribblings that turned into the first 7k words of a new novel over the course of a day recently. I’d love if two people would be interested in reading it and give me some feedback and critiquing. Bear in mind it’s a rough draft of the first three chapters, but I think you will enjoy it.
I’d be in your debt until I could return the favor.
Short Synopsis: A man begins to have very realistic visions of three things over and over, a girl in a place he’s never seen, her death and his death. Things begin happening that make him question his own reality.
Something has set in motion a series of events that culminate in either his rise and fall. All his life seemingly prepared him for this.
I totally butchered that synopsis but it gives an idea anyway. Sorry!!!!

December 11, 2018 at 8:59 pm in reply to: So I guess I’ll just introduce myself. Hi, I’m John. #65338Yes I have read all of the Holmes stories many times plus a good many other books by Doyle. All of which were very intriguing. As far as his powers of deducing facts, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle actually possessed all of the traits with which he endowed Sherlock Holmes. There are many interesting stories I’ve read of him deducing facts about someone from their appearance. He was a man of many talents.
My work in progress is just that, a work in progress. I haven’t had enough time to work on it lately and am stuck at 20k. It is frustrating me to no end having it sitting idle but when the time is here I’ll keep it going. I finished a short novel a couple months back that I am trying to edit at the same time so it is going sllooowww.
The story is interesting to some but I’m sure that not everyone will find it so. A synopsis would be lengthy so I’ll spare you unless you really want to hear it in which case I’ll send it to you.

I didn’t read every message other than yours so someone may have already said this but I had an old and experienced writer once tell me: In a short story series make sure you stay fluid with interesting segmented stories. Through all the short stories in the series also have an overarching story that builds slowly throughout all of them and keeps you wondering how it will all end even as the smaller stories take place. That way it’s thick enough to make you wonder but not overpowering.
Ok, so I didn’t say it exactly like he did but that was along the same lines. Hope it helps
