I love reading and agree with what he says here. Especially reading outside of one’s genre!!
@j-a-penrose Classical Historical Fiction? Maybe like Les Mis? Or Charles Dickens books? Both of which I would wholeheartedly suggest. π
Except to younger readers. π
Bleak House though! Les Mis! Some of my favorite books. (:

Hello, guild people! π
Once my writing teacher told me that every writer had a super power. Something that they were especially good at. Maybe it was wordsmithing, or world building, or description, or connecting readers with a character, or creating a sense of suspense, etc.
So, since I’m still meeting you all, I wanted to know what you think…[Read more]

@j-a-penrose Oh yes! When I first got on I recognized your name and I was all excited! X)
@christlover *thumbs up* Wish you guys could meet!
@taylorclogston Really? π Yeah, not many people know Alexander sadly. He’s not Tolkien or Lewis, but I loved his characters. I think he may be my favorite author (in a “friend” author sort of way–I feel…[Read more]

@evelyn Alas, the only real debates I’ve had are with counter protestors who hate my guts and internet trolls. XP I wish I could have done regulated, civilized debate before that though. I take it you do debate?
@j-a-penrose XD Well, we have Elvish in our name and an awesome description, so I am happy indeed. I can’t wait to hopefully contribute…[Read more]

@j-a-penroseΒ Β I only know a little bit of Quenya. I happened to know that particular phrase because I had recently seen it. I have tried to learn Quenya, but right now I am working on Latin instead. Could you translate your question for me?

@j-a-penrose Thanks for this advice! I’ve actually been working on this, trying to get up and talk a walk or run between sessions of writing. Yesterday I did some yard work as a break. π
As to sleeping, my Dad shuts off wifi at 10 p.m. every night so me and my siblings go to bed. xD
Again, thanks for all these great tips!

Thanks to the recent word war, I actually finished the fifth and final book of a fantasy series Iβve had bouncing around in my head for years. The first draft is 114,107 words long, about 14K words over the word count of the other books. I have grown up a lot while writing this series. @j-a-penrose Of those, schoolwork and responsibilities are the things that keep me from writing most of the time. (Or maybe it’s the dreaded writer’s block. π )
The weekends are the best for me to write since I don’t have schoolwork to worry about. I have noticed something weird, though. I always want to write when I’m supposed to be doing…[Read more]
