Wait, Neasa my friend, you’re saying you don’t like villains with reasons for their evil? You just want villains that are shallow and do evil because evil is fun (aka, most Disney princess villains)? I’ll wait for you to answer before I start ranting. xD
Okay here’s what I actually mean. I think you misunderstood me there, or maybe I…[Read more]

Thanks for tagging me! This looks fun🤩 your thoughts on those books are very insightful. I don’t think I‘ll read ‘The Princess will save you’ now that you’ve taled about it, simply because of the subject matter. This sounds so old fashioned maybe but I love the stories where its the prince or the male love interest had to sw…[Read more]

Frisian is a language in the far north of the Netherlands. It’s not a dialect, though Dutch has a lot of dialects, it’s an entirely different language, and the Frisians consider themselves a separate nationality. They have a flag and an anthem, but economically and governmentally they’re dependant on the Netherlands.
Ohh wow t…[Read more]

That’s such an awesome title! I love it and I love how it links to mythology!
Aw thank you so much!
Ooh, I actually had a brief fascination with Irish Gaelic a few years ago! Especially after someone told us he’d found it was almost mutually intelligible with Frisian! It’s the coolest thing!
A lot of people love the languag…[Read more]

Titles are just the worst arent they? I like yours @rose-colored-fancy, they’re more unique than most book titles. I literally walk into a book shop seeking great fantasy novels – and all I get are copycat titles. A court of this and that. The heir of this and that. Please people, at least try to be creative :/
My series itself is gonna have o…[Read more]

Hey guys! I’m considering uploading a recording of my WIP extract, but first I would love to know where you get the music and sounds. And what recording apps do you use?

Mayra was shaking so hard, darkness eating away at her. She couldn’t understand why. Hadnt she always been taught that she had to look strong and intimidating? She was taught how to conceal her emotions, bottle them up, trained to feel nothing until it was second nature to her. So what was this-
“No,” the boy said, interrupting her thoug…[Read more]

Mayra was stunned. Her lips were pressed into a thin line, so so hard it hurt. She couldn’t walk away. Even if she tried. She couldn’t change.
He had said he would be there for her. There – for her. Mayra. The Bloody Mink. Murphy’s Hound. The Little Monster. She squeezed her eyes shut. There was no way he would understand. No way.…[Read more]

The dragon spoke to Mayra, his voice devoid of empathy. “Have you never heard that the ends justify the means? It is true. I know it, for I live it.”
It would have been hilarious if Mayra had not been so full of loathing in that moment. Then the boy with the sad eyes spoke up. “The end never justifies the means. You think your cause is worth…[Read more]

That’s so cool! Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I have never been to Disneyland (or world) myself. We went to Paris a few years ago and I begged my family to let us go to Disneyland but they said no haha. I was so upset XD. I love beaches too, they’re so much fun.
The retreat was so good, I really enjoyed myself. It was way out in…[Read more] -

The dragon made total sense to Mayra. She recognised the darkness in his tone, his words. She understood him.
Then Nithel spoke up softly. “He loves you. He has given you life.” … “And though it can seem like a curse, and with it we may curse o…[Read more]

When Nithel nodded and said with devout seriousness “He is”, she felt something cave inside her chest. She sat back on her knees, stunned.
A part of her had aways known that answer. She knew that at some point in her life she would have to atone for everything that she did. That was why she spent her days cleaning up that abandoned cathedral in…[Read more]

Mayra followed Nithel to the stream and cupped her hands in it, feeling the coolness of it. She drank thirstily, the dryness of her throat slowly recovering.
She heard a ripping sound and turned to see Nithel ripping his shirt. Her mouth fell open as he tore a large piece of it away. What was he-?
She felt the blood drip down her nose and her…[Read more]

I am Nithel, son of Father. Those words bounced back and forth in Mayra’s head, over and over again. She shook her head, confused. What was he on about? Who was this father of his? And why did he not refer to him by his proper name?
Unless – unless that was his name.
The gears in her brain pushed themselves into motion as she stared at this…[Read more]
