Hi, I don’t have any crazy stories about ancestors from other countries. In fact the only ancestor from another country I’ve even heard about was my great-great grandma who immigrated into the U.S. from Czechia, but I’ve never heard any stories about her. But, my life does still inspire me to write stories.
There is one story I would…[Read more]

@evelyn Yay! I’m so glad it went well! 😍 And the Greek food turned out. I’m sure that was a relief. 😉
I’ll have to look into making one…it would be really cool! 🙂
*eye-roll* 😄
Wow, that’s so cool that you know that about your Great grandfather! Do the letters till exist?

@evelyn well. . .it’s kinda hard to get a hold of one particular thing. . . It’s like ideas, thoughts emotions that I deal with in my life. And some stories from other people’s lives, but a lot of it is. . . really kinda difficult to talk about for me right now.
I’ve never done a family tree.

@evelyn – Here’s my current summary (though I don’t think it’s very good and will probably change it. Again. :P)
With the help of her siblings, Maerielle, a rare wielder of water magic, must heal the enchanted Virnalian Forest, the life source of the Portal between Earth and a planet called Quilvanya. If she fails, an evil emperor from that…[Read more]

@evelyn – YES, family trees are so much fun and so interesting! It’s so cool that you could go all the way to the 16th century! What are some of your methods?
Sadly I haven’t been able to get very far (probably because my ancestors were from France and there was the whole revolution thing going on) but what I have been able to find is pretty…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen @ariella-newheart @evelyn Ok so I’ve got an update! My friend posted and she said he’s gone through many surgeries, but he’s doing really well and recovering faster than they expected, and he won’t lose the arm. So yay! And thanks again for all the prayers!

@steward-of-the-pen – Yay, you’re back!
Ooh, good luck on your goal! I don’t really have much planned since I’m going on vacation for the last two weeks of August (without my computer), but I’m hoping to finish this pesky little scene that’s taking forever to write before I leave next week.
@evelyn – Congrats on reaching the 23k mark! And good…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen My goals for August aren’t very lofty. I hope to finish a mini research paper in the next week and edit a little more on book two this month.
@evelyn Congratulations to your brother on such a felicitous engagement! (His wedding 😛 )

Happy Saturday, all!
This thread is to continue the conversation started on the most recent podcast episode. 😀
We were only able to tackle a couple of points on the episode, but there’s a lot more to be said on this topic so we wanted to keep the discussion going! 🙂

@evelyn Ahh, dear Evelyn, you always make the greatest threads. 😊 I love this so much!
Wow, those stories are amazing! Thank you for sharing.
I always used to think that I didn’t have a very interesting life or history or ancestry. My life was boring, my parents life was boring and my grandparents life had been boring too and theirs before them.…[Read more]

Hey guys!! Aw, I’m missed talking together too! ❤️ I haven’t been very active on here recently. Partly because I’ve been busy but also because Story Embers isn’t the same for me as it used to…maybe I just haven’t been active enough.

Yep, I’m fairly excited @the-fledging-artist. I’m getting to study music and paintings (I’m hoping to convince my class to visit the art museum in DC since its fairly close :)) and British lit. I’m pretty optimistic about my co-op class as compared to last year so… fingers crossed. 😛 (I don’t actually cross my fingers but it was the only thing…[Read more]

I have also gotten a lot of inspiration from my own life. Mostly from the people I come in contact with.
Alot of what I get from my personal life story is deep emotions and thoughts. Lessons I’ve learned, victories, failures. . . That kind of thing.

*takes a deep breath* *brain starts churning* 😄 Okay! I don’t know how to say this, and this will probably end up pretty long, but I’ll try to sum it up.
So to answer your questions. I found out that if I write a completely fictional story it doesn’t come out right, but I’ve also discovered that if I write a completely nonfiction story…[Read more]
