@raemarie Yes, I have! It’s one of my favorite movies. Meagan Follows portrays exactly how I imagined her. I actually watched it last week. 😀

@sir-leeds Thank you!!!! So helpful.
I’ll go through and try to take some of the words that are out of place and replace them with more fitting ones. When I repost, I’ll tag you. 🙂

@libby I have! They’re pretty simple but expressive, so very relaxing to play. I have played the three gnossiennes–my personal favorites. (Especially the third!)
I have read all of L.M. Montgomery’s novels, and The Blue Castle is my favorite. I love it!!! Aaaaahh!!! Emily is definitely a close second. Have you read Pat of Silver Bush, Kilmeny of…[Read more]

The format is doing something weird (the middle is all double-spaced…)

I would love any opinions/edits/revisions on this poem.
*After reading*
Four things: (honestly)
1. Does it sound like I’m a tree-hugger?
2. What vibe does it give you?
3. Does it sound choppy and disconnected?
4. Your other thoughts and advice

@libby Yes! I actually did that on purpose. 🙂 She’s one of my favorite fictional characters. My name is Emma though, not Emily. Not many people I have met have read any of her other books besides Anne, so it makes me so happy that you love them too!!
Haha! Me too. I always remember what they sound like, not their names. 😀
Wow! You’re playing…[Read more]

@emgc Same! My mom loved it and passes it on to me. Yes, I have! I LOVE that book. I’ve been playing piano for 7 years. 🙂
Oh yeah!!! It’s so helpful and inspiring…I read it every once in a while when I get in a rut to help me do hard things again. 🙂

@libby Sounds like some good options! The school I’m going to is very liberal, but I’m doing dual enrollment for all the core classes, so I’ll only be taking music classes while I’m there. (It’s also REALLY close to me, so I’ll be able to live at home.)
Favorite composers: Bach, Scarlatti, Satie, Ravel, Chopin.
Well–I have waaaaay too ma…[Read more]

@libby A kindred spirit! 🙂 *virtual hug* I’m planning on going to St. Mary’s College of Maryland. They have a great music program, and I already take from the artist-in-residence, Brian Ganz. (Look him up on youtube–pure genius!!!) What about you?

@emgc Chronicles of Narnia, Anne of Green Gables, and the Dear America books were my childhood–I’ve read them all at least ten times respectively. I also read a lot of Lamplighters when I was younger. Have you read Stepping Heavenward by E. Prentiss? It;’s one of my favorites.
I discovered the Mysterious Benedict Society books last year and…[Read more]

@emma Hello fellow Emma! 😉 We have some similarities in loving chocolate, kids, writing, books, and music. I am planning to major in piano performance in college, and I also love to sing and play handbells on the side.
I’m not that good at writing either…but I’m learning a lot. Your story sounds cool!

Wow! What a powerful story. I was engaged the entire time. 🙂 One thing I particularly liked was your smooth interweaving of Cal’s dialogue and thoughts. They were very different, but I understood enough from her thoughts so that I could empathize when she was speaking to others. I felt her emotions rather than watched them. You connected with me…[Read more]

I have been interested in publishing, but I think that will be in a few years. I have a total of about 35 completed poems, but they don’t all fit a theme, etc. However, I want to make a book of poetry at some point soon. Your themes sound really interesting! I’ll look through mine to see if I have any trends. 😉

@wordsmith Right! Anne is great. It’s the most stand-alone of all her works and it’s unlike the rest of her books in many ways.
