@steward-of-the-pen and @anne_the_noob14 – Thank you! I’m so glad you both like the names!
No idea if you’ll see this in time (seeing as it’s supposed to be done by tomorrow xD) but I finished the story’s draft, if you want to check it out.

Since I think we’ve mostly agreed to go with our previous idea (although @azeline-d‘s thought was very fascinating and one I would enjoy delving deeper into), I went ahead and wrote the first scene, coming up with a bunch of names that you can feel free to change. Personally, at already 969 words, I think it’s too long, but I’ve always been bad at…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14Â – Great idea! What if we made the animal a sort of beautiful, colorful, sparkly bird, like an upgraded peacock? Culture B is fine with eating them, but Culture A worships it because it’s one of its gods.
@steward-of-the-pen – Thanks! I agree, no magic. Your plot is pretty good! I think the protagonist should be more of an…[Read more]

Sorry guys, I’ve been on a no-internet vacation for the last two weeks, so I didn’t see this until…a few minutes ago.
I really like @steward-of-the-pen‘s thought of worldbuilding (totally not because that happens to be one of my few strengths xD) and @j-a-penrose‘s idea of a good sort of collision. Most people think of negativity when they hear…[Read more]

@j-a-penrose – Glad to know you’re not dead! xD I’ve been gone myself for the past two weeks (on vacation, so nothing terrible.)
Aw, you’re fine, I understand! You’ll definitely be in my prayers. Remember to cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you. 😉
Hope everything smooths out soon!!

@steward-of-the-pen – He does! He’s the one who speaks in rhyme, so I think I can make that part of the conversation seem more intriguing.
Those pesky conversations! xD What are the ex-enemy’s reasons for telling the protagonist the plot? Does the plot put everyone in danger if no one does anything to stop it?
Good luck!

@steward-of-the-pen – Thanks! What kind of a scene is yours? Mine’s basically an audience with this wise person who explains a bunch of things to my MC, and I’m trying not to make it sound flat and like a lecture. Which is really hard. xD
@ariella-newheart – Thank you so much! I’m glad you think so. Lol, reading old writing is quite an…[Read more]

@kayla-skywriter – I think so, but honestly I don’t really know what fingerstyle is. xD Is it just like breaking up the chords to be played by individual fingers?
@holly-anne – Ooh, that’s so cool that you taught yourself guitar! You must be great at playing by ear. I’m terrible at that, but fortunately I’m okay at reading sheet music. Otherwise…[Read more]

@writercatherine – Ooh, I’ll have to check that trilogy out. Always looking for new books to read, especially Christian fiction. Well, I just finished The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep (by H.G. Parry) yesterday, one of the best books I’ve read recently. Though it’s not Christian, it’s clean and I highly recommend it. I’m also reading Great…[Read more]

Lol, that’s so understandable. What books have you been reading recently? YES, we finally won a guild war! We had good teamwork. 😛

@evelyn – Here’s my current summary (though I don’t think it’s very good and will probably change it. Again. :P)

@evelyn – YES, family trees are so much fun and so interesting! It’s so cool that you could go all the way to the 16th century! What are some of your methods?
Sadly I haven’t been able to get very far (probably because my ancestors were from France and there was the whole revolution thing going on) but what I have been able to find is pretty…[Read more]

@trallion – I know, compared to piano, my violin sounds so bad. But I’m in love with it played by people who actually know what they’re doing, so I put up with it. 😛 Do you have a favorite composer for solo piano?

@emberynus-the-dragonslayer – Hi! I mostly listen to instrumental music, but while driving I listen to KLOVE, on which I prefer music by Jeremy Camp, Micah Taylor…and a bunch of others I can’t think of the names of right now. xD

Thank you so much!!! YES, abstract-ness is awesome. I have a dream to actually compose my main characters’ soul-melodies, but we’ll see how that goes. It’s a pretty stressful job to compose the musical fabrics of my characters’ souls. xD

@holly-anne – This is such a good topic! Music is a huge part of my life. I love listening to classical, orchestral stuff (especially Debussy and Tchaikovsky), LoTR/Narnia soundtracks and, of course, the Piano Guys (who knew? xD)

I don’t have much experience with poems and their inner complexities, but I had a burst of inspiration when I had a recent *cough* traumatizing *cough* experience.

It stains
With jagged grains
And never slows.

@evelyn – I do, especially when I’m building my world’s history and writing little stories of its past wars. One day, when I’m older and have more experience in life, I want to write a book about my family’s lives in Vietnam. But right now I’m not quite ready for nonfiction.
