@anne_the_noob14 – Great idea! What if we made the animal a sort of beautiful, colorful, sparkly bird, like an upgraded peacock? Culture B is fine with eating them, but Culture A worships it because it’s one of its gods.

@steward-of-the-pen – Thanks! I agree, no magic. Your plot is pretty good! I think the protagonist should be more of an ambassador/spokesperson or something instead of the actual leader, because a leader sneaking into enemy territory doesn’t seem quite right (but it depends on the type of culture, which we need to figure out.)

I was thinking Culture B could be like a medieval European town, you know, with the lord of the town living in a castle. The other could be tribal, perhaps like the Native/South American culture, which would make worshipping idols more sense. Of course we’d tweak the cultures to make them more original. What do you guys think?

If no one else wants to, I could start writing a short draft tomorrow (because I don’t have time today.) We should start coming up with the important names, like the name of the animal, each culture, the leaders, and (if we decide to) the spokesperson.

Also…I’m not very good with word counts. Do you all think this could fit in 2500 words?
