So, considering that almost every book I’m planning to write is in a series…it’s high time that I asked this question.
So, you know like the three pillars of writing? (Plot, characters, theme)
So would I have an overarching plot, an overarching character arc, and an overarching theme through the series, along with a plot, character arc, and…[Read more]

You know you’re a writer when:
-You only watch a movie that you don’t want to watch because ‘It’ll make good reference material’.
-When you convince yourself to do almost anything by saying, ‘It’ll make good reference material’.
-When in a crowd, you look for people that would make good characters.
-And then stalk aforementioned good character…[Read more]

@sarah-narnathron Oh, my. I like this a lot. Now I’m just wondering since I have a large family in my books why am I not doing this….
Being the third wheel, while cliched, is also an extremely effective way to create conflict.

Hmm…I like this ongoing idea.
I think that one of the main things I’m struggling to add into my writing as I’m learning is: Never make it easy for your characters. Always mess things up. Everything. Everywhere. Pretend you’re the character, make a plan about how you’re going to achieve a goal, and then, as the author, make it impossible. Also, I…[Read more]

@morreafirebird It usually leaves her feeling very indecisive and compromising, instead of going with what she had originally planned. I actually don’t really know how she turns out. Something I have to work on.

Hmmm…I’m just gonna go with Kindle.
Her main one: Doesn’t feel like she’s a good enough leader, doesn’t want to disappoint, but wants to be kind with everyone.
Others:
-Doesn’t really want to do what the Vyrn wants her to do
-Wants revenge on Donny for burning up her home
-Just wants everyone to be happy without going through all of this…[Read more]

@lydia-writes I don’t know why I’m replying so late but I like the idea of griffins and giant eagles. or hawks.
@sageinthemeadow Oh, the ending to the Inkheart series just about killed me. But little creatures might be cool.

Oh man, I would love to, but I’m sooo busy reading another story so I’ll see if I can get around to it. Hmm, and about the tagging…don’t worry, any of us could have done it. But can you see if you can modify the post, or have one of the mods fix it? After all, other people will be able to see us now….*looks around nervously*

I think out of all of all your lists (that came out weird) I think the only one I’ve read is Howl’s Moving Castle @sageinthemeadow.
@enu Fables about things are always great, as I have just remembered two others that I really love: Animal Farm by George Orwell and Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
