“Home,” Asher’s escort said, handing him a set of keys. He splayed the keys out in his palm. Which one?
But his escort had already returned to the car and started the engine.
Asher tested several keys in […]

Cindy Green started the topic STORY EMBERS MEETUP?! in the forum Announcements 6 years, 10 months ago
Hey, all! Who’s coming to Pennsylvania next week?! Josiah sent the announcement out this morning, but it’s worth posting twice: Moraine State Park on Friday (June 21st) evening from 7-9 PM. You can RSVP by replying to Josiah’s newsletter email. Over half the staff will be hanging out that evening, and I know I speak for us all when I say that I…[Read more]

Where does a thought go
once it’s been forgotten?
If I found the hidden world
for lost thoughts,
would I befriend them? Would I
stay?
I would like to ask them
if they remember choosing the color of the w […]

Cindyyyyyy….this. ❤️🌻🐿

My heart… wow.
This is… this is just so beautiful. I love how it just muses and wonders and wanders right down, and as it seems like the whole thing’s just about to fade away, you surprise us with the lovely conclusion that is so true! I love it so much, Cindy <3 Bravo! -
Very interesting. I liked the way you flowed in and out and held a broken rhythm. It’s almost like Whitman but with a touch of drifting. Very interesting and most definitely like the slow swirling of a stream in summer.
-
It’s almost like you were threading the words into a sheet that eventually made it all the better.

Artist,
noun:
A soul that doesn’t believe it’s made of stardust,
and so it searches for a home
in every crease of a fingerprint,
smudged between strokes of brush buildings
and canvas walls.
A soul that wie […]

You stole my heart in this poem, Cindy! *showers you in sunflowers and stars and doughnuts and love*
<3
These lines were ultra-special to me:"A soul that drinks from rainwater
and fountain pens,
knowing that one has kissed the sky
and the other has wet the page—
and isn’t sure
which one is which." -
GREAT JOB, CINDY!
-
What a beautiful dictionary of words, dear! ❤️ Your poem reflects the breathings of my writerly, artist soul in ways I never could imagine.

I have always been able
to describe the ache—
the ache in my shoulders from sitting too long,
the ache in my eyes from crying too much,
the ache in my heart from missing you,
the ache in my hands
from h […]

Wow. I love the vulnerability in this poem, Cindy. I needed to hear this today, too. <3 Thanks so much for sharing!
-
Wow. This is beautiful! T_T

This is very beautiful Cindy. I agree with Sarah you did a great with vulnerability, and I love your technique! But I can’t help noticing the absence of our loving God, who will carry with us all the aches known or unknown, and who is “touched with the filings of our infirmities.” Love your phrases such as
“with every scratch of draining pen
and every drip of bleeding pain”God has given you a gift. 🙂

I REMEMBER THIS STORY
Oh my word, I was so excited when I clicked on this post and read the first paragraph and was like “WAIT – I KNOW THIS”. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES IN ALL OF EXISTENCE. If you ever write a follow-up novel to this I would 100% buy it ;D. IT’S SO, SO GOOD <33333
THANK YOU for this lovely story, Cindy! <3
ACK, VANNAH. You are the best. *grins* Thank you. <3

GHK. MY HEART.
IS YOUR HEART OKAY, LOVE
My heart did not go any ‘GHK’ things (or was that her throat)… I did not cry… but then again, I am a man.
What I saw instead was the visual stunning. I saw the feels, heard them, felt them. It was a little view, a tiny flash of Cindy’s compassion in 2143 words.
Beautiful.
I… I definitely did not tear up at this, either. What? Pft.
I have no words, my friend. Thank you.
Wow, what a great story.
*grins* Thank you.
Aww, thanks, Kassie!
This is just… just… amazing. I loved it. It’s beautiful. The only complaint I have is how short it was.
So sweeeet!
*inhales* I. Love. This. 😭😍🌿
This is a great story, Cindy. 😀 Thank you for writing it! I enjoyed it!
I SIMPLY CANNOT.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy, this was the most beautiful, sad, happy, emotional, heartwarming story, like, ever! I really can’t tell you how much I love this.
