@msqueen8 Yeah, that’s very helpful! Okay now to answer your questions:
Yes, to both of them. But is being feminine something you have to teach a girl? Isn’t it just a part of who she is? I dunno.
I guess one other thing I would add is that more than teaching a girl to be feminine, you should teach her where her identity lies. When we…[Read more]

Yes, I thought so to. ๐
I just wanted to encourage your desire of being a wife and possibly a mother someday. That’s not only a beautiful goal, but I think also a very noble one. ๐ Personally being a wife is one of the most satisfying areas of my life and after being married for nearly two years now it just keeps getting…[Read more]

@msqueen8 I think Kate answered your question. 😊 A person shows the greatest strength when they strive to become who they were created to be.
@cassandraia First off, you really NEED to read the LOTR books.😊 At least if you want to understand the characters better…the books add so much depth and clarity that you don’t necessarily get from just…[Read more]

@Cassandraia great thoughts! And hey, this woman doesn’t believe in being oppressed either. XD There are definitely a lot of men who abuse their role of protector— and a lot of women who abuse their role of nurturer. Even within ‘Christian’ circles. But these are sins inherent with human nature, not masculinity or femininity. Lumping all men…[Read more]

@daeus-lamb I agree with @ethryndal and @cassandraia. Honestly, reading over your post, I was thinking “Don’t we pretty much already do that?”
I think that there could definitely be some other activities though– nothing too grand. Maybe a semi-monthly “get together” in each guild where we can just check up on each other and talk about life,…[Read more]

Hey Saxon Scribes,
As you’ve noticed, activity has been pretty low here. Same with the other guilds.
That’s fine if everyone’s busy, but if it’s just because the guilds weren’t attractive enough…
Well, we should do something about that then.
After talking it over with some of the other SE staff. We have an idea. This isn’t a premade…[Read more]

Hey guys! I want my writing familyโs input on something writing-related.
You ready for it?
Women in fiction. Particularly in fantasy, where so many of them take on combat roles or other roles commonly filled by men, in the name of offering โstrong female role modelsโ.
What do you think about this trend? While I was thinking about this I start…[Read more]

Whoops! Well, they’re aliens. Flesh and blood, with different colored skin. Their blood changes color based on their emotions and it shows through their veins, which are under translucent skin. Orange is for anxiety and red is for fear, etc. I was trying to set that up without info-dumping with the novitiate in the beginning, but it may not have…[Read more]

@corissa @cassandraia @literatureforthelight @eden-anderson way to go, ladies!
Corissa, I love all your ideas, and I think they would be perfect— for a much larger story. ๐ I forget our exact word limit, but the enormity of all your beautiful themes would crowd out a lot of the simple rawness that can be such a strength in a short story.

@cassandraia Exactly. Maybe we could even do a type of parallel story, but twist it so that she’s the Jezebel, and in thinking her god was displeased by not answering the pleas of the priests, she sought to give him the ultimate sacrifice- herself. But then she sees the beautiful thing, whatever it is, and… chooses life? Realizes that she…[Read more]

*pops back in*
I think this is all wonderful.
To do some brainstorming, I think that first person will be the easiest by far. If we did it from third person, it would be difficult to get as close to the raw emotion and pain of it all. It could technically be done, but I think first person would be much more…[Read more]
