Hey! Thank you so much! Yes, while I was visiting the Creation Museum with my family last year, I read this article in the section of the place with lots of different stories with dragon-like creatures (dinosaurs), and the story really struck me and ever since I haven’t been able to forget it. It just needs a story.…[Read more]

No one else has responded to you??!! Well!
Hi! This sounds like a REALLY great idea! I LOVE stories about the thunderbird! *shivers in delight*
I think it would be good to learn as much as you can about the culture and the towns in the old west. I’m also writing an old west story, though it’s set a little further back in time. I…[Read more]

Hey, guys!
I’m plotting a new story for Camp Nano this April, and it’s a fantasy/historical fiction set in the old west (Tombstone, Arizona, circa 1889 and 1890, to be exact), and I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the things I’ll need to research to make the setting, characters, weapons, and food as accurate as possible. I now know that the .45…[Read more]

Hey everyone, I just joined! I need some help because I’m stuck with a scene in my story that’s supposed to be creepy, suspenseful, and interesting but feels kind of flat. I need some tips for adding excitement. So my two main characters are teenagers June and April who are sisters. They’re helping an old woman clean out her victorian mansion when…[Read more]

Hey! My name is Katja. I just joined as well, but I understand what you are struggling with. One thing that seems to help me is to draw out a map of where she is going. If you are just imagining her walking, walking until you decide that’s enough and then, boom she’s there it might not work so well. Planning out how much time you want to pass, how…[Read more]

Mine is something like “Groundhog Day/ Happy Death Day.
Basically there is a super hero who’s power makes it so that when he dies he will restart the day. The super hero, however, is not allowed to change anything that they do. They simply have to hope that the people around them will notice irregularities and realize what happened, thus changing…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 – Yes, the BBC show with Benedict is set in modern London. I was a bit skeptical at first, but they did an excellent job converting the Victorian era in the books to the present day (Watson and Holmes call each other by their first names, Watson blogs about Holmes’ cases instead of posting them on a newspaper, things like that.)

I personally love the Sherlock Holmes books. I have not seen any of the Sherlock Holmes movies or tv shows though.
I also really enjoy the “Father Brown” mysteries by G.K. Chesterton. I would definitely recommend them.

Oh gosh. I have read very few mysteries XD Like, literally the only mysteries I’ve read are Sherlock Holmes lol. Oh. Actually I take that back. Is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde a mystery? Cause I’ve read that. And if any of Edgar Allen Poe’s works are mysteries, I’ve read them.
I shall do my best, though! Let’s see. Oh gee. I’m gonna have…[Read more]
