Eliana stared out in her kingdom with disbelief written all over her face. How could my kingdom have changed so quickly? She nodded in agreement and started northeast. She had a quick enough pace that she knew it would take Kallun a moment to catch up.

Fortunately for Kallun, his long strides matched her pace fairly well. He followed behind with a hand on his hilt, always at the ready.

Ellie sighed realizing the fail to her attempt. She slowed down to her regular pace since the effort was useless. Biting her lip to remind herself not to try and make conversation, she kept her eyes on the road… or what was left of it. They walked on loose and crumbled rock that had once been a beautiful, perfectly placed cobblestone road.

Kallun paused and picked up a shard of a cobblestone and moved it back and forth between his hands as he walked.

Eliana gave him a quick glance seeing he was throwing a rock around, she then noticed that he was shaping the rock. “Woah,” she said, finally breaking the awkward silence that she had purposely caused. “That’s really cool!” she went on.

Kallun nodded, “Yea…” He was deep in concentration, rolling it out into a long stick like.. thing.

The silence continued. As much as Ellie knew it was wrong to talk with this boy, she couldn’t stand the silence anymore. “So…have you been to my kingdom before?”

He glanced at her as he picked up a smaller rock and began pressing it into a point. “No.”

She nodded remembering exactly where his home was on a map. Not far from her kingdom at all. Suddenly a loud roar came from above. She jerked her head up to see what was going on. Extremely large clouds formed above them. Much larger than an average cloud and much much darker than a storm cloud. She knew exactly what she was looking at. These were clouds created from magic.
she has a lot of knowledge on magic stuff from her past. idk why, I just made that up but it works XD

Kallun looked up, “blast. How do we stop that?” He handed her the stone arrow he had just completed.

“Run. Run, now!” she screamed taking off in a sprint, knowing something worse than rain was about to happen.

Kallun took off after her, unsure if he’d be too fast for her to keep up with his long legs.

Ellie tried her best to keep up with Kallun, but the attempt was useless. She still ran as quick as her legs would let her. Behind her, she could hear the thunder. It sounded exactly like giant boulders were chasing after her.
