OK SO HEAR ME OUT GUYS

don’t tell Kit but he’s kind of exactly my type-

I just…really REALLY like dramatic flamboyant stylish guys XD  And idk how it happens but it somehow ALWAYS ends up in my writing?  So, right now I have Kit (of course), Jasper, and Sebastian…but even before then I had Sasha (who’s currently got a life sentence in Character Timeout (TM) and…Basil…unfortunately…at one point…

*shudders at the memory* It did NOT suit him well, and was fortunately rather short lived XD

And the funniest thing is that it’s rarely intentional.  Like, Kit was always stylish but he certainly didn’t start out that flamboyant…but now?  Same thing with Sasha and Basil (although thankfully Basil is back to his awkward, practical self XD)

But anyways…I mean, Kit’s not just extremely fashionable and flamboyant, he’s also a strong believer with solid morals, plus he’s neurodivergent :’)

Also I keep having irrational desires to allow Sasha back in Spire but I know that’s an extremely bad idea so I won’t do it XD  Remember how he Y E E T E D  Quinn?!!

    @e-n-leonard
Thank you!  I do believe this is officially the angstiest thing I’ve ever drawn XD

I have no idea what you’re talking about, but this sounds awesomely hilarious XD

And you’re welcome! It’s definitely angsty XD

It should be seen more often imo 🙁

    It’s nice 🙂

I’m glad you like it!  At first, I wasn’t quite sure how people would receive it, but so far people really like him and that makes me happy 🙂

I have no idea what you’re talking about, but this sounds awesomely hilarious XD

    Oh boy…how do I start…

So, Spire used to be WAY more dystopian, and focused on Basil and a female super soldier as main characters (as of now, she’s no longer in the story.)  This was way back before Kit and Val existed, and it was pretty much an entirely different story in many ways.  Basically, Sasha was the “main” supersoldier project, but a failed experiment ended up turning him into an alternate reality (yes you read that correctly XD) and he gained reality bending/warping powers.  He also gained the ability to create “rifts” in the Veil (basically, the fabric of reality, and the source of his powers.)  He ended up going rogue and decided to try and erase Spire from existence to undo all of the damage and suffering done there.

Quinn was one of Emily’s characters, and he was just such a sweet poor boi 🙁  He lost his foot in a wagon accident (which also killed his mom,) and he was the go to whenever we needed a pitiful scene because he was just so smol and sad and helpless 🙁

So, at first Sasha was a rather sympathetic villain, but then he decided to just be insufferable and obnoxious (and so I eventually just cut him from the story.)  He ended up in the character castle, decided to flirt with @rose-colored-fancy’s character Liorah to make another girl jealous, and HURLED Quinn out of the way to go talk to her (and he has super soldier strength too…) and then misinterpreted Liorah’s horrified gaze as *interest*, and then Liorah beat him up and he still didn’t get the hint XD

My other character caught Quinn though, so he was fine XD

    @calidris

    OK BUT ALSO!!!

I’ve figured out how I’m going to reincorporate Kit and Val into Spire!  They’re going to be really significant characters in Basil’s story (so, their timeskip.)  I know they were having a really great life in Spire before everything went downhill, and I also know they’ve been really involved in their church their for years and are loved and accepted there.  Kit in particular is kind of the unofficial “fun uncle” of all the kids there and it makes me very soft :’)

He and Val end up hiding Basil, and I’m pretty sure that’s the catalyst for their decision to cross back into their homeland and seek refuge there.  I think some people they knew well from their church got involved too once it became clear that Basil’s life was at stake, and from there they slowly started building a little party of defectors XD

But anyways, instead of being the “annoying older brother” in Basil’s life, Kit’s going to end up being the “annoying uncle” and I think that has the potential to be both very hilarious and very sweet and wholesome :’)

Also, Spire’s always had this authoritarian/militaristic, kinda dystopian feel, and I wanted to really try exploring that more from a historical perspective in Spire.  I think it’s particularly inspired by WW2 right now (especially in Europe, with the different resistance factions in Nazi territory.) I think the city of Spire is in another country, and Kit and Val immigrated there (along with some other people they knew.)  I think at the time, it seemed smart and fun and glamorous, and they really enjoyed it until the politics started going south 🙁

Also SPOILERS (I don’t really care, but if anyone does then you might not want to read the rest!)

Remember Alastor, and how he had a significant role in Sebastian’s disappearance?  I think he was able to escape justice by joining Spire’s military/allying himself with this political group, and by the time the timeskip rolls around he’s become an extremely powerful leader in his own right.  I’m absolutely sure he’s involved with Basil and the labs, and I know he’s developed a pretty extensive list of “allies” and informants through blackmail and coercion (so…eerily similar to how he got Kit ostracized…)  He’s kept an eye on Kit for years now, but he’s never found anything truly blackmail worthy XD

I’m also toying with the idea of Sebastian secretly selling information.  He’s a bit of a double agent in that sense, because he isn’t fazed by the idea of double crossing his clients, and he’s well known as both a dangerous ally and a dangerous enemy (so, probably best to avoid him as much as possible.)

Asdfghjkl this is hysterical to me, I think ND’s are the majority in the castle at this point XD I’m autistic! I’m not diagnosed but I’m like 99% sure XD Ooooh, remember Aydin? Him and Rúan had a briefish interaction iirc! He’s actually autistic too, but it took me a longgg while to figure it out XD

Hey cool! I have two sibling characters, Clanner and Coryn, who have OCD and autism respectively.
I honestly find it fascinating, these disorders. Seeing as I have ADHD myself, I’ve always found the subject fascinating.

    *grumbles* I guess…

    :]

Think we should put “Thou shall not yeeteth innocents” in the castle rules? XD

    CASTLE COMMANDMENTS:
I: Thou shalt not yeeteth the innocents
II: Thou shalt change the Castle Commandments at thine own will XD

Pardon me if this is insensitive to autism in any way, but I find autism and neurodivergence in general just so intriguing, so it’s fascinating to me that you have autism. 😊

Nonono it’s totally cool! I’m absolutely fascinated by it too, even before I figured out I was autistic, and after I put two and two together that fascination just became even stronger XD I love talking about it!

I currently have like… three or four autistic characters, they’re just so much easier for me to write than any others, funnily enough XD Contrary to popular belief, I can write NT characters if I put my mind to it XD

I remember Aydin!! Yeah, he and Rúan did have a brief interaction, but it’s one I’ll never forget XD

LOLL I remember Aydin was very, very suspicious XD

Okay cool, just wanted to make sure you were comfortable 😅
Yesssss ikr? I think it was finding out about ADHD and learning I had it that made me pursue psychology :)))

I currently have like… three or four autistic characters, they’re just so much easier for me to write than any others, funnily enough XD Contrary to popular belief, I can write NT characters if I put my mind to it XD

Coryn is the only one  of my characters that is clinically diagnosed and has her autism tied into her story and character arc, but I’ve been looking at a few of my other characters and seeing some of them fall on the spectrum.
Oh yes, I’d say the majority of my characters are neurotypical, just because it has been my default (and I’ve only just discovered a few years ago what neurodivergence was, and only last year ADHD) for years. Although I take more joy in writing ND characters because they’re more like me, and different from the rest. If there’s anything I love most in the world, it’s being different :]

LOLL I remember Aydin was very, very suspicious XD

    He totally was 😂

Ahhh that’s so awesommeeee!!! I love them already, tell me about them! And if you need any help with writing autistic characters, I am always looking for an opportunity to infodump XD

    Ahwww thank you so much!!
So Clanner is 17, and Coryn is 15 — both from Ohio in a small town called Bellinston. Mind you, this is set in a dystopian/illusionary utopian Earth, so the town names and the tech are very different. A new personality system similar to MBTI but highly more scientifically advanced has taken over most of the US, and basically analyses your brain 8 days after your birth and predicts your personality. You’re given a document with your personality code on it, and it’s basically as important as your health card or driver’s license.
5 number slots show your extroversion over introversion, your intuition over sensing, your feeling over thinking, your judging over perceiving, and your confidence over apprehensiveness.
Anything scored 51 and over in any slot is extroversion, intuition, feeling, judging, and confidence. Anything scored 49 and under in any slot is introversion, sensing, thinking, perceiving, and apprehension.
E.G.: 83-92-22-01-45 is extroversion, intuition, thinking, perceiving, and apprehension (in mbti lingo, ENTP-T)

Those people who were analysed and the machine malfunctioned (i.e. gave the results as ERROR) are called ExclusionA (one or more slot of the code is read as ERROR) or ExclusionB (all slots of the code reads ERROR). All Exclusions are looked down upon.
Clanner is ExclusionA, with his ERROR in the second slot
Coryn is ExclusionB because the test analysed her autism, which doesn’t register in the computers.
So now they’re basically on the run, trying to rally all the Exclusions to overpower this system so that nobody has to live in poverty because of the way they are.

    whew
    sorry about the dump 😅
