Okay, sorry that I’ve been kinda chaotic and sporadic and stuff lately guys, but things have kinda been blegh and yeah. Anyways. I am here now and hopefully can make some suggestions.
BASICALLY, what @ariella-newheart summarised is what we are going with.
I really enjoy the ideas that are being thrown around, and my one concern is that we do…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen Nice job! I like how you hardly even describe the two characters, yet we seem to get a pretty good picture of what they look like/their characters.

@steward-of-the-pen @all-ya’ll-parimi-poets and @j-a-penrose
What if our greeting was a response sort of thing. Like the first person says something like: “May the stars shine brightly over you and may your clocks never stop.” (Bad example I know. xD)
And then the next person would say something in response: “And may your words ever shine like…[Read more]

@julia Thank you! And actually…if you’re interested, I have a group of people that are reading Beautiful Murder as I write the first draft, you can totally join it if you want. 🙂 I am super excited about this one, as Beauty & the Beast is pretty much my favorite fairy tale ever. (I already wrote one retelling, then there’s this one, and I’ve…[Read more]

Greetings Parimis,
(We should make up a cultural greeting btw, 🙂 )
Basically I’m wondering if there are any other poets in the world. 😉
Anyone??

@steward-of-the-pen Yesss, Storm Wielder should be a lot of fun.
Flightless? Yeah, I’m actually thinking, maybe, that I’ll be going through and editing it next year, then getting it out to alpha readers. *hides* So crazy, but it actually turned out really quite well. I did a series of blog posts about it here, here, here, and here. Hopefully, one…[Read more]

- Good job for finishing! *cheers*
- Hahaha, yeeeup. If it’s a comfort, we all go through that phase. I regularly look back on things I wrote only a few months ago and wince because it seems to sound so bad. But often putting it to the side and working on smaller projects for a while as you improve helps you get back into it…

Okay, all of this sounds absolutely stellar. Like, really guys. Good job. I’m impressed.
NOTE: @steward-of-the-pen is close, there is a 2500 word limit. Jane only has so much time to go through all of them.
*sits back to think*
- Plotline sounds brilliant, unique, and generally awesome.
- The character sounds stellar.
- The resulting c…

HOW GUILD WARS WORK:
Whenever I announce a Guild War, I’ll tag you in, and we’ll have a thread where we discuss ideas, (here) and then set up a Google Doc for everyone to edit. Typically one person will volunteer to writer everything that had been decided on into a story, then everyone else comes along and edits it. In this stage you can add ent…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen So you like our basic plotline? I know we came up with it while all the other Parimis were kinda asleep. 😛 As for writing it all out, I don’t know much about how that process goes. Do we submit our idea to @j-a-penrose and then she writes it out? Or do we each do our own version and then decide which is best? Or are we…[Read more]

“Write any story you choose with the most original and creative prose that you can.”
THE TIME HAS COME PARIMIS.
War has been declared among the guild’s of Story Embers, and Parimi Alca is in terrible danger.
The competition will be tough. Avensbeck has won all of the prompt wars so far, and if we aren’t careful, they will dominate again. Also, t…[Read more]

This question was raised as an aside by @consciousdreamer a few days back, and I figured it could be good to spend one of our Monday lessons on it.
All too often, you can be reading a book and then have to put it down and rub your eyes because the writer just had their entire cast described down to every freckle in one chapter. You have all of…[Read more]

Sounds like an awesome novel! Here’s my thoughts.
- A bad experience? People gain convictions, beliefs, and such things from experiences. Perhaps if you villain is a Thunderstruck, have him gain control over the other Thunderstrucks(who are supposed to be good) and made them raid a village or something. Plot bunny for you:…
