    Hello!

I’m sorry but I’m going to have to pull out of Roleplay and this amazing forum entirely. With four jobs (okay three of those are piano but three different locations) plus manning websites for family businesses I don’t have time to write like I used to and I want to devote the time that I do have to my wips. Ya’ll have been great and I’ve loved my time roleplaying! Thanks and best of luck!

I love this as well and I’m glad I’m not bugging you with my questions!

I actually hadn’t considered that prospect before. I’ve been messing around with Matz’s amorality. I’ve always thought that he had access to philosophy as a test in the program/experiment considering he is a prototype. I’ve always had it in my mind that his amorality is due to using a type of drug to kill/deaden those senses throughout his life. Giving him access to multiple contradicting philosophies only furthers to keep him in the gray. Is that a reasonable explanation?

Oh good! It seems he’s always wanted a family, considering the contrast with M.O.T.H.E.R.

Ugh I hate that too. I’m pretty sure Matz has killed before, party of the shady government deal.

I love all your insight! Yeah I like the ruthlessly interrogating one…murder is indeed easy…and now my second favorite word pops into my head…torture…

I absolutely love father/son bonding moments and especially the accidental father type. Ugh my heart. Yeah, which is why I go with a father figure, he needs someone to take him to his first baseball game so to speak, but admonish him when he steals a candy bar from the store.

What are some things you would advise me to stay away from since writing an amoral character seems to be a bit tricky?

    @ariella-newheart

Ohh the Scarlet Letter!! It’s on my reading list of ‘what I missed in high school’ so I get to read it soon, right after Faust! That was really helpful! I might have to bump it before my fluff read since I alternate heavy and fluff. Thanks for sharing! I really appreciate it!

Would you rather have all your joints pop every time you moved, or always feel like you need to pop all your joints, but you can’t?

Matz ~ I believe the fulfillment of something constantly would result in the satisfaction of the mind rather than the constant need for something that will never happen. This is one achievement in of itself that some philosophers find to be self awareness. However it could be a serious medical concern for either of these options and…

Jack ~ Kid, cut to the chase. It’s one answer or the other.

Matz ~ ….I choose the former.

Jack ~ You could just say the first option you know, or that you’d rather have your joints pop every time. I’d probably have to agree, considering my joints pop all the time now (is actually in his early 30s and not an old man)…but I would hate feeling like I need to all the time without any relief.

Next Question: Would you rather go camping with the most annoying character in your story (to you) or spend a month in an isolation ward?

Wow I love your rants….so much…this invoked so many questions in my mind and some I got to answer! Thanks for the link it helped as well!

Also *sweats* there’s a lot of pressure writing an amoral character…

I’ve got a few questions regarding to more of his role in the story forming in my mind. More to how you would think it would play out? Aurgh, its really cool hearing your opinion.

So Matz is basically an experiment (program) under a CIA operated branch called M.O.T.H.E.R., which is trying to perfect the perfect overseas operative. Someone who doesn’t care what shady business the CIA needs them to do. Pretty much from childhood he’s been raised in a lab, tested and prodded. He would be raised without ethics as well. He finds a refuge in philosophy, studying and reading different philosophers over time, which brings me to his goals.

To define right and wrong and to find a real family. (Is that a goal that audiences would sympathize with? I’m not entirely sure.)

By saying “he will do anything to get it” my mind always pops to ‘murder’ but it would also be lying, stealing, cheating, etc correct?

In the story he will have a strong father/older brother figure come into his life. This could be how he starts building the line, right?

Also for tripping up, making that mistake. What could be something he crosses the line for family that would turn the people he’s been closest with away for a bit? Again my mind pops to ‘murder’ but you would be surprised how often my mind goes there…

Thanks again for everything, I hope I didn’t drill you too much….

“That’s the problem,” Scarlet said. “We didn’t escape. We were just dropped back into our worlds. I thought it was all a bad dream, due to a bad ghost pepper, but now….” He looked around. “It’s starting to seem real.”

    K thanks!

Matz turned staring curiously through the bars. “This isn’t Mother at all but another reality again in which we are being controlled by greater beings liken to the gods of myths and legends.” He glanced back at the girl wondering why she was so angry. A lot of young kids went through Mother’s programs. He himself had been accustomed to pain since birth considering he was born at the facilities. “An intriguing prospect being in the hands of a higher being and utterly useless. I unintentionally lied, I have no idea what they will do, but I’m sure it will be painful like last time.”

“Well I haven’t been here,” Scarlet shook his head. “Thayer close your mouth, they don’t need your positive outlook on things. But someplace similar. A bunch of us went through some crazy times,” he sighed. “It wasn’t exactly fun. The people running this place aren’t exactly nice either.”

“Inium…uh like the city we are in and the Ministry is the government,” Scarlet whirled a finger around the cage. “Courtesy of the Ministry.” Scarlet hesitated, hearing a voice and phrase of speech he would have rather forgotten about. He turned, peering through the bars. “You! Thayer! Oh this is not good,” Scarlet groaned the words, leaning back as best he could.

Deciding the red armor guy was giving him an inquisitive look, impossible to tell through the mask so it was his call, Scarlet sighed. “This means we aren’t in Inium, which means I’m not in the hands of the Ministry but something far worse. Something I can’t escape. This is great. I thought I had escaped this madness. And I’m not only back in the crazy world I’m with the slouching brainiac without a filter!”

Matz frowned, he had meant that to be comforting. What was better than being experimented on without the pain? Maybe they were believers in the usage of pain. It was probably their religion and he had been utterly sacrilegious. He was atheist himself, but perhaps he should try and make things better.

“Sometimes the nurses forget the anesthetic so you can feel the pain,” he said bluntly. “They’ve done that to be several times, but I hardly care. You know I once practiced the art of self infliction as a study on ancient Catholic practices. It takes a lot of commitment. It was part of a practice on death itself and how to inflict it, which is why I’m here I snapped the neck of my bodyguard but I thought it was Mother’s intent only to find out now that I was in what they say ‘the wrong’.” He sighed, hunching over and letting his hair fall into his face. “But depending on your beliefs I’m sure that you…” he trailed off, noticing the elder of the girls was glaring at him again.

“An unwise decision considering their methods of detaining us are quite innovative,” Matz sighed. “But usually they use a numbing agent do you wouldn’t feel anything.”

Scarlet jumped slightly, dropping his hands down. Great, the slightly intimidating, red guy was talking to him. It didn’t sound like a bot, so evidently one of Eswix’s more audacious men? But why would he be in a cell like him?  “Right, uh we are most likely in the Ministry’s Labs located across Inium. Why you are here I have no clue, Same for the others. But I may or may not have been firing and illegally owned weapon at possibly a government owned drone. We just don’t know. Anyways they’ve already taken my blood so I’d say any minute I’m going to be shipped off to a very uncomfortable place where I may or may not be in a slight amount of danger.” He waved his hands. “Simple.”
