@emma-starr I’m not very experienced with short stories but I think they still have the basics, exposition—-rising action—climax—falling action—denouement. A novel has the same basic structure but because of its length can handle more. To use Josiah’s “The Heretic’s Sacrifice” as an example, (spoilers) the exposition is the first castle…[Read more]

Dr. Strange saw what would happen if Thanos got the Time Stone so he gave it to him, knowing he would get the Mind Stone (When really he would only need the powers of the Power, Space and Soul Stones, and maybe Reality Stone), knowing afterward he would win, and while winning Captain Marvel would be called by Nick Fury, and would be able to defeat…[Read more]

Hi @evelyn! Sorry for late reply :p
It’s called Collision: Fusion of Worlds. It’s about a broken family trying to save the world, pretty much. It’s kinda hard to summarize because I may have put in too many characters XD

@elizabeth Nice to meet you, fellow dragon!
@jane-maree Hi! I’ve been playing for about a year now. It comes a lot more naturally than the others, though; I’ve been playing piano for eight but I can play cello better XD How long have you played piano?

Well my name was Daniel Barryman, but I changed it just so we could be bros 😉
I write in pretty much anything that includes swords, guns, blood, life-threatening situations and mythical creatures…Mostly fantasy, action, thriller, etc.

@bigideaskc Have you watched the TV show Fringe?
Have not. By the name I already know I don’t want to.
It was basically about two people who wound up stuck in a hospital and were made to believe by psychologists that they really were the people they had supposedly replaced, and they began to go crazy and stuff, and there was a lot of “are we…[Read more]

@bigideaskc I think it’s fantasy/action-adventure or something? Whatever Narnia, Marvel and Bourne mixed together would make.

@bigideaskc It sounds pretty interesting. I’d look into getting it except I have no method of income XD It reminds me of Eyes Wide Open by Ted Dekker.
It was uber creepy though don’t read it

It’s basically my whole life’s work, but as far as the actual art of writing goes it could use some work. I might release a second edition in the future, idk. Honestly I don’t know how it got accepted??? It was a self-publisher, more or less, but kinda a cross between self publisher and traditional? It’s weird. I think they’re self but they’re…[Read more]

@bigideaskc It’s called Collision: Fusion of Worlds. It’s kinda hectic so it’s a little hard to summarize, but here’s the cover:

Now that I look at it it looks a little mediocre compared to yours XD

@bigideaskc Nice to meet you! I’m new here as well. If you don’t hit me we should get along just fine.
That’s great that your published! I have one in the process too but still in first printing so no links or anything yet :/ Your cover also looks great. My graphic designers were pretty crummy so I had to give them a picture a friend designed XD…[Read more]

*Streaks through the air and morphs back into human, landing on feet* Hello, everyone, I am Samuel and a writer like most of you I imagine are. Just looking for some more support and education after migrating from a no-longer-existent writing site 🙁

Samuel replied to the topic Is the climax too late to add 3 new characters? in the forum Characters 8 years ago
I agree with Daeus, it shouldn’t be a big deal as long as it’s actually understood that they aren’t important, but if you want them to be important it’s probably too late. However you could introduce some sliver of back story somewhere, I think, to make the reader wonder about the character, and potentially write an…[Read more]
