Things happened fast. The man called Misu went from trying to find friends to talking about about being something like a prophet. What caught Klein’s attention was his reference to rifts.
The aliens used wormholes ships to move their fleets. Their biological appearance was practically identical to Earth’s population. The big difference was a…[Read more]

Klein left the rations on the ground. A lot had happened to this group before he arrived. They probably had some reservations about him. Taking a pocket sandwich and beef snack, he walked to the basin.
The grid pattern worried him. It was too different from everything he had seen to be good. The squares were about two foot by two foot. Striking…[Read more]

As Liorah greeted the newcomer, the floor gave way. Klein didn’t struggle this time. Who ever this was, they didn’t seem like the type to just up and kill someone. They acted on reason. Break the rules, you die. Cease to entertain, well guess what.
It wasn’t much of a fall, barely a story to the next floor. Light flashed on as they hit the…[Read more]

Klein had just finished recovering when the walls sank. What remained of the others appeared. Just four. More casualties to this place. Standing, Klein put Zanar down. They had to move before the next round began.
Then a man appeared. He looked like the classic image of an RPG rouge.
“And who are you?” Asked Liorah.
“Is this a joke human? I thi…[Read more]

Riure was gone. Just gone. Klein let loose with expletives. She was just a kid. She didn’t deserve to die like that. Klein felt his blood begin to boil. Shifting his weight around, he threw a punch. As hard as he could. The barrier shattered against his blow, surprising Klein.
But he was free. Back in his armor. Leaping back from the board, K…[Read more]

Hey, I work construction and we have a luxury vinyl plank or LVP with looks like wood but is made of plastic. What we use is thin and reasonably easy to cut but can fully mimic wood flooring. Perhaps this is what you are looking for.

“Master Klein? Can Zanar look at my cards and somehow tell me what they are?”
What a strange question. Then it hit Klein. She couldn’t see the cards. Blindness was something he had not seen in a person. Surgeries and other procedures to fix the eyes were very good now. The idea that someone wouldn’t try to repair their body never occurred to Kle…[Read more]

If the material deteriorates similar to uranium, the gravity will weaken slowly. The people on the vessel may not notice the weakening until something or someone jumps a little higher or flies a little farther than normal. Water or other liquids might be an indicator. Liquids tend to turn into spheres in zero g.
Since space is a…[Read more]

Well the idea of using a superheavy material to create artificial gravity is a new one for me. However, there are some inherent problems for space flight. Because of the weight of this material, very high power engines would be needed for forward movement. This in turn would probably mean having to store equally large amounts of…[Read more]

@joelle-stone“Do you know what to do, Zanar?”
It was the girl. She was beginning to panic. The boy paused, surveying the trap that Klein was in.
“Nope.”
“Oh.”
“Did I forget to mention that you are being timed? If you lose the game or if you fail to finish in the appointed time limit, there will be, shall we say, conse…[Read more]

Well here is the board. Chinese forces are top, US bottom. Klein is in the elite infantry in the center sector.Infantry has a two hex attack radius. Roll two dice for first hex, one for the second. Elite infantry has a three hex attack radius. Roll three dice for first hex, two for second and one for third. IFV has a three hex attack radius.…[Read more]

Well I like the gameboard idea so lets go with it.
The game will be based a little off Memoir 44 (a good game). The board is divided into three sectors. (Left, center, right) Pieces have a fixed range and movement, cards are used to move or attack, dice determine damage. Game ends when enough enemy units are destroyed, objectives are captured or…[Read more]

Klein is with Zanar and Riure I guess. I missed @rose-colored-fancy‘s post and wrote him with them so he’s stuck. Which means that there is a shapeshifter on the loose.

Steel walls shot up out of the floor. Klein instinctively snapped up his rifle and closed the visor. Quickly turning, he checked his surroundings. The group had been broken apart by the walls which seemed to originate from a single point. A top down view might give it the look of the spokes of a wheel. His group consisted of two children and a…[Read more]

Well, flying ships are quite a thing to read about or see in film. It is another matter to figure out how to make one fly. The current designs I have been working on use a combination of helium or similar material and large, high power engines. The real problem is the ones I am working on are warships. Armor is super heavy and…[Read more]

Pulling herself down from the ceiling by an improvised grappling hook, a girl settled by the console. She seemed to know what it said.
“I’ll cover you.”
Dropping to one knee, Klein began to sweep the hanger. He had been caught off guard once. Opening the scanners in the helmet, he checked for thermals. Outside of the wrecked machines, everything…[Read more]

Isaac looked at the sweets. He disliked such conundrums. As a spy, failing meant death, of himself or others. He choose based on rumor and fact. He studied and observed. Rarely were the options too close to properly judge. Vulferym and Alessio debating the puzzle didn’t help.
“Done.” said Virtus.
He had eaten one of the sweets.
From behind,…[Read more]

@this-is-not-an-alien
Well from what I know which is little, gravity pulls. When two gravitational fields meet, you get the hover ability. The catch is forward movement. To “surf” on the border of the two gravity fields, there must be continued movement of some fashion or the surfer will become stranded. Another problem is there would be no safe…[Read more] - Load More
