That’s true, but you can hardly use my novella and short stories to prove that I’m good at writing romance.

However, I do admit that people seem to enjoy my attempts at romance, so maybe I’m not as bad as I think I am.

(I’m currently reading over a novel I wrote early last year. The romance is…cringey, to say the least)

@rochellaine Ah! You hit it square on. Yes, I suppose envy really is the wrong word. Having a human focus will always cause us trouble, but if we’re truly jealous for God’s glory I think it will lead us down the right path.

Those are some really good thoughts! I like the idea of finding a “southern” girl for him to marry. Because really in that time period, people didn’t really have the mindset of “marrying for love”. They did what was practical and expected in their day. Love really wasn’t the main factor back than.
