    -Hey everybody, I have limited internet access right now so it’s been a few days. I love the quotes!!!! I think it’s awesome to surround ourselves by wisdom from our forefathers.

    BTW Have any of you ever read Our Country’s Founders: a book of Advice For Young People. by William J Bennet. It’s a collection of letters by American figures in colonial times to their children nieces etc. It has some really good stuff and definitely an interesting read.{if you like history that is:D}

    @rochellaine I loved your post about the Civil War!! Very well said!!!

    @eden-anderson  I know the feeling of a cheesy plot. I’m revising a story about a girl who is a southern belle and becomes a Confederate spy and union nurse. It is pretty cheesy and cliche in some spots but my goal was to show what it would be like for someone who lived in the south and loved their life but wanted to free the slaves so much they were willing to give it up if that’s what it took. Yes, love stories were a little bit different back then but romance was an even bigger part of society too. I believe we’ve changed what we find romantic slightly too if that makes any sense.

    As far as your story, I think he should have some other reason than the girl he fell in love with to support the northern cause and he should have a good reason to not tell her about what he’s doing. Though I understand he wants to protect her, from your story plot I can’t really see why he doesn’t tell her cause she lives in the same house anyway and is on his side. If you are not interested in the plot anymore I would say its fine to ditch the idea but keep it somewhere. Old sometimes seemingly junkie stories can illuminate a thousand new ideas. Anyhow good luck with your story ventures.

    Ps: if you wanna work on refining the plot. I’d be happy to shoot ideas back and forth with you. Sometimes we think we are writing about one thing only to find something hidden in our story that is what we truly meant to write about.✒
