Alright guys! Time to turn in your totals for the word war! I didn’t get as much writing done this week as I wanted to. I’m working on revisions, so there’s a lot of stuff already written, but I did add 4K to our cause.

I often have the same problem, @kr-lalonde. I’ll be inspired when busy, but empty when available to write. It’s painful and almost frustrating–I have to keep dependent on the Lord and His plan even more then.
I’ll find that sleepless, long nights are when my best ideas and writing sessions come out, as untimely as they are. I have no solution…[Read more]

@kr-lalonde I’m a huge fan of free writing when stuck. Definitely give it a try!
I used to get crippling writers block, to where I had tons of unfinished stories laying around. And I finally decided I was using “writers block” as a crutch. Instead of powering through and writing whatever I could I was hiding behind this idea that I was some power…[Read more]

@ireneadler have fun with your filming!
@kr-lalonde it’s so hard sometimes, finding the motivation to get at a project. I can totally relate.
Is your current project something you really love? Maybe the reason it’s not working for you is that you’re not excited about that particular story concept anymore.

Today’s post is by Faith Kochanowski and she’s got some excellent insight.
How to deal with non-motivation/discouragement
Non-motivation is a real thing. It is also paralyzing. I ought to know, I’m dealing with it right now. And that is why I am writing this topic up weeks in advance rather than working on my own novel. Is that count…[Read more] -

Today’s post was written by Brandon Miller, my fellow Nebraskan.
How and What to Read as Writers:
Okay so, we’re all writers, right? We weave words and spin tales and generally have a good go at reality. For most of us though, our love for stories started on the other side of the experience — as readers. Now that we’re writing, it’s sometimes…[Read more]

@Knaplingers, happy Easter week!
Have you guys read any stories that remind you of Easter? The endings of The Warden and the Wolf King and Ember Rising (and the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, obviously) come to mind for me. Have you written any stories that remind you of Easter? Of course in a way every good story reminds us of the…[Read more]
