I put my name down for Tues, Thurs, and Fri evenings in the write-in schedule document.

About video chats: there is always the option to simply not have one’s camera on and only participate via voice. No one would be offended, and your cat wouldn’t have to suffer obesity by being fed treats all the time just to sit still in front of the camera. XD

[On the Discord app (which we talked about getting before deciding to do Hangouts instead), there is an option for voice-only chats, or video chats, as well as multiple chat threads for different topics of conversation – but its all in one place, very conveniently.]

And yes, what I described is basically a conference. XD Precisely. 😛

I will look into it, but I think the vote-counting side of the Word Wars isn’t too difficult to determine the overall winner. But as I read what you wrote down about all that, I was thinking that it would probably be more motivating if people were able to see their individual scores – if the standings were “published” somehow on a chart designed for that kind of thing. It would give much more motivation than just knowing that you didn’t make the highest word count.

Also, being able to see where you stand within your own guild would be awesome. And then comparing the total guild numbers as well.  I feel like it’s probably a pretty easy thing to make happen.

As for the rest of your ideas, I’m interested in talking about them further and seeing what we could come up with for more solid, detailed ideas. 😛

@princess-foo I have mentioned among the Guildmaster Assembly that we have instituted guild positions to boost personal involvement and help things run more smoothly overall so it doesn’t just all rest on one person’s shoulders. I don’t know if any other guilds have added this, but it’s worth bringing up again.

For now, I would like to make one definite move towards more consistent personal involvement by way of starting a monthly video-call discussion. At this point, we would need to hammer down a date for those who are interested in participating. I’d like to keep it regular from month to month, but if there are only a smallish number of us, we could be more flexible if someone(s) was unable to attend.

So.

If you’re interested, here’s what you need to know:

– We’re starting a monthly video call

– We need to settle on a date that works.

– Eventually we’ll need to figure out what exactly we’re discussing. Polls are

– Right now I’m thinking of using Hangouts;  but if there’s enough interest in trying Discord, we’ll definitely do that. I really like the platform.
