Jane Maree started the topic PROMPT GUILD WAR – Happy Endings but NO CLICHE in the forum Announcements 7 years, 4 months ago
It’s been a literal AGE since we last did a guild war, but we guild masters are finally kicking ourselves into gear and we’ve got another show on the road! WHO’S EXCITED???
Okay, let’s get to the actual plan.
The prompt: write a story with a non-cliché happy ending.
The dates: Monday 4th – Monday 18th
Same drill as always.
- We brainstorm on this topic (NOT in the doc). We decide on the story concept, choose characters, etc.
- Someone volunteers and writes a rough first draft in this google doc HERE. You can each add your ideas into the story and help once the first draft is written. (NOTE: the scene has to be under 2,500 words)
- We edit. We polish. We make sure that this is the best we can make it. (Using the Suggest Edits mode.) And we totally nail this non-cliche happily ever after!
I won’t lie, I do have a bit of a liking for slightly cliche happy endings. I’m a disney girl, and I won’t deny it. 😛 But this time, it’s got to be happy, but not cliche. And bittersweet endings don’t count as being happy.
Lets see what ideas we can come up with! Brainstorm away, meerkats!
