J.A.Penrose started the topic I Am Alive, and Apologise in the forum Announcements 6 years, 8 months ago
Hey guys! In case you don’t remember me, I’m Jess. I’m actually your guildmaster, and I’m not dead!
First up, full apologies. A fair few major life things happened, and I was overwhelmed and basically shut myself in my room and just cried while trying to keep on top of things for basically a month. On that, prayer for dealing with deadlines and…[Read more]

@april-j-rhys
Hmmm. I sent you a NaNoMail as follows:Â Hi April!
Just checking to see if this is you. I’m Jess/ J.A.Penrose, your guildmaster from Story Embers. Just wanted to make sure this is you. Also, before I am able to invite you into the cabin, you’ll have to make a project, and change the cabin settings to ‘I don’t want to be included in…

@april-j-rhys
I’d love to invite you to the cabin. But I can’t actually do it until you’ve made a project. *facepalm* If you can let me know when you’ve done that, that would be awesome! (you’re also able to edit your project’s title and word count and whatnot up until the 20th of July, so it doesn’t matter too much. xD) -

@noodle-mum Ooooh. I am doing almost exactly what you’re doing! (Thanks for tagging me, @selah-chelyah)
The way I personally would suggest writing in, is as follows…
1. Write out a super detailed synopsis. (I personally prefer handwritten) A brand new one with alllll of the details. Include all of your information here.
2. Open your original…[Read more]

@azeline-d Yes. XD We have a habit of getting the honorable mention a LOT though, so it’s become a bit of a joke with the guildmasters, and in the guild.
And yes guys! Awesome job! *happy claps*

Here is the doc if you want to check them out.
Jane was reeeeally impressed. She was super impressed, particularaly seeing that I sent her a message a day or so before saying, “ACK. THERE’S A WAR AND I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE PARIMIS ARE DOING.”…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 Yeah, definitely milder. Just a long process of dealing with something that potentially could get worse, but it’s going to take five years, so woot.
I’m praying for you and your Mum. <3

Guys, I’m so proud of you!
It was really nice to come back from a week of injections, hospital trips, conferences, and essays (legit. It should not be legal to assign teenagers with thirteen essays to do in five days. *dramatic sob*) and to find that you had gotten on with writing, and had done an a.m.a.z.i.n.g job at it. So proud. You guys made…[Read more]

Sorry all. I gave it a shot, but it was running late and I barely got anywhere.
Bit of feedback on your idea though:
– The beauty of a pencil was a really cool idea. I love how something simple like a pencil means a lot to us, because it creates entire worlds and lives. Awesome concept.
– The was a lack of ability to put it in a dramatic…[Read more]

Okay guys. So sorry I’ve been gone, been dealing with doctors not believing me about my allergies until it was pretty obvious I was a mess, combined with the end of term rush of writing a ton of essays and music reports. *facepalm* But I’m back now.
I’m agreeing with Grandmother’s hands. Also, seeing that it has to be in a dramatic setting, maybe…[Read more]

Okay guys. I know I’ve been pretty terrible about being around much, but it’s awesome that you’ve come up with some ideas! The beauty in a pencil is a cool concept.
Have we got any volunteers to write a draft? Because the story needs to be in by Sunday.
(Also, if nothing seems to be happening by mid-way through tomorrow, I shooould be free to…[Read more]

@ryowildfire Hello and welcome, fellow Sanderson Fan! I’m Jess, and also am a mad reader of Epic Fantasy. In April I started to tackle writing my first ever Epic Fantasy novel. *happy claps* Aside from that, I have around ten other novels I have unpublished drafts for, and about that many short stories. @selah-chelyah *facepalm* One day I shall include the link on the first try. 😛 Does that work now?
@dakota Oooooh, nice thoughts. *nodnod*
@ellen-blanc Well, I’m Jane’s irl cousin if that helps. And she shamelessly tailored the Meraki entry when I was judging to my tastes, so doing the same to her would be amusing to say in the least.

@shadowwriter161 If you say one thing a week on the guilds, than you are contributing more than a lot of members do.
In all honesty, if you want to try being in a guild, sign up and see how it goes. If you feel like it isn’t working out for you, let the guild master know and they’ll remove you. 😀

@shadowwriter161 You may rise. 😂
Ahhhh. Technically you don’t get to pick. You just sign up to be sorted into a guild and eventually we’ll place you somewhere. However, if you do have somewhere in mind, you can ask the guildmaster if they’ll add you. If there’s room, then usually that’s fine. *nodnod*
The guilds themselves are typically the same…[Read more]

@shadowwriter161 Guildmaster right here! *waves*
In answer to your question, no. You do not have to be a certain level to be accepted into a guild. We can look and see what level you are at, and generally the guilds are made up of long-time writers, and newbies. This allows for more chances of improvement and to be able to grow and learn with…[Read more]
