Hope you don’t mind me popping in, here. 🙂 I read your description and I really like it! It gives me a strong image. I might change up some simple grammar, split the sentences differently, but overall I like the wording! I personally am a huge fan of character description.

*grimace* I really need to write. I haven’t gotten anything down today. I need to make this awkward dinner scene into a meaningful dinner scene, but I’m struggling.

Hey, I’m a little late, but are you still around? I’m literally 150 words away from breaking my all time writing record–I mean in my whole life.Â
I am pumped and ready to write! Although I have been a bit more slow and thoughtful recently, which is why I haven’t been warring as much. Slowing down helps improve my quality of…[Read more]

Hey, it’s a mystery to me. 😛 This book is called Daily Life in the Middle Ages, by Paul B. Newman. It is a WEALTH of knowledge. I adore this book. 😍

Yep! Names based off of occupation came about both for first and last names. The name Carter literally means “cart driver”. I’m not sure exactly when that became a thing. I’m at work and my book for this sort of research is at home.

Ooh, nice time period! I am a huge medieval times nerd. 😉
Depending on how era specific you are trying to be, you may not even give him a last name. Last names were not coined until late in the middle ages, or it may have even been into the Renaissance. I don’t remember exactly. But especially as early as the 10th century…[Read more]

Ahh, I see. That’s neat!
*thumbs up* I gotcha. And I totally get it. Not everything works for every human being on the planet. That’s the beauty of it, I suppose. Everyone is a little different. 🙂
Let me know if you find/come up with anything!

Wowza! Part of me is a little confused because you have to but you don’t…? But if you really need help, I may have a few ideas.
Sometimes inspiration strikes already set with a vague plot and/or character. This happens to me quite a bit with prompts. You’re a writer so I guarantee you have a list of those somewhere. 😉 Another…[Read more]
