Oh really that’s funny, what type of trees do you have there? We have: cedar, pine, fir, hemlock, birch and some mt maple!
Yeah that would be hard if you were the only Christian against atheist!
I was in Judges for awhile now I’m in Ruth. Judges is brutal! At least the last couple of chapters are! haha.

That is so sad…everything about the Holocaust is really heartbreaking. I’m sure it’s less prevalent in Israel, but I know some people in America want to say that it never happened, which is really tragic. May we never, ever forget!
Well, it depends on what part of Texas you’re in, since it’s so big. The part that I’m from, Central…[Read more]

Oh, Isreal, that’s cool! Do you like it there? Also just curious, do you know English or do you use a translater?

Hello!
I live in Northern Idaho, it is very very pretty up here! We live up in the “mountains” haha so we see a lot of wild life. I have hiked up the mountain Scotchmans which is the tallest mountain in its county!
I like reading, writing obviously lol, drawing, hiking (which I haven’t done much of) and swimming!
I am thirteen today…[Read more]

Yep, that’s Thunder! I’m training him as a therapy dog, to work in hospitals. He’s a lot of fun.
And yes, I live in Texas! 😆 I’ve also lived in Arizona, which is more of a desert than Texas is, and really pretty in its own right. Texas is my favorite, though, even though I love them both.
Wow, I didn’t know there were hyenas in Israel! T…[Read more]

He’s just that saying that repentance is recognizing your sin and turning away from it, and seeking to follow God and please him instead of living in continual sin. In other words, the Holy Spirit changes our hearts to stop loving sin and start loving God. When we love God, we seek to obey his commands, not because that’s what saves us…

המצב אכן לא כזה בסדר. לא נורא, אלוהים משתמש בקורונה למטרה טובה.
Yes! I believe it! (I don’t know how to say that in Hebrew. 😛 )
Wow! it’s so cool! God will help you in that!
🙂 תודה רבה! עכשיו אני רוצה לעשות את זה.
You mentioned before that you like to draw. I absolutely love drawing! What kind of things do you like to draw?

Also it’s so breathtaking to hear you talk about the country over there and the places where events of the Bible happened! It’s just beautiful!!

Library is Sifria, which is a pretty new word, that was invented in the 20th century. The word for school however is much more older, and probably was in use in Jesus’ time. It referred to a Bible school (Bible = book, in the era’s context) for children, and was different from a Talmud house, where teenagers and adults learned the Jewis…

Sounds good. I think what you want to do can be done–I encourage you to keep praying, studying, and thinking about it–but it’s probably for the best you’re waiting on it. If lots of Christians turn to fiction to evangelize and the majority of them don’t prioritize their art to the point where they and those who know what good art looks…[Read more]

I really appreciate your heart for reaching people through fiction, but I have to agree that it’s very hard (or nearly impossible) to share the gospel in a fictional work without being preachy. After all, preaching is sharing the gospel! The two go hand in hand. So maybe you could consider writing nonfiction… Just a thought.
Also,…[Read more]

@eitan I wrote a reply, but I wasn’t logged in when I posted it, so I lost it. 😛
I’ll try to summarize what I said.
- It’s true people don’t like sermons or debates, so those generally don’t belong in fiction either. 😉 I can think of some examples with sermons or religious debates in fiction that actually felt totally natural, but it…

In fact we have contractions in Hebrew! For example, the correct form to say ”of you / yours / your” is the separate word shelcha, but in speech we usually contract it to the suffix -shcha. The correct way to say school is beyt sefer (which literally means ”book-house”, by the way), but usually we pronounce it Betsefer. However, unl…

Growing on a small farm is fun. We currently raise chickens and dairy goats. We used to have bees but they kept either swarming or getting killed by harsh winters or hive pests.
Sounds crowded over there!

Hi @eitan! So great how passionate you are about sharing the Gospel through your writing!
There are actually some really good articles on the Story Embers blog about this topic, although they do all seem to be a bit older so they might not have appeared when you were looking. If you go to the Ethics category then there’s a good list.
