@ethan-leonard @calidrs @the-inkspiller @e-n-leonard @joelle-stone @anyone I missed
I don’t have discord, and neither does Joelle, if I read her post correctly. I may or may not be opposed to getting it–haven’t decided yet. My idea is to wait a few days and see how many others are interested in this idea, and then split into groups: a group…[Read more]

@e-n-leonard got it! You may edit it out if you wish, now. I’ll just shoot you a quick email to make sure it works, then I’ll start a thread when we have our group together.

Hello everyone!
I am trying to get 4-6 people together to form a writing spring group. Basically, we get together at scheduled times to do writing sprints. It could be weekly, biweekly, monthly, whatever. I just think it would be good for me to do sprints, and it would be so much funner and more accountable with others!
I was hoping we could…[Read more]

@emily-waldorf @e-n-leonard the Save the Cat method is kind of an expansion of the three act plot structure that gives you very clear “beats” or plot points that occur in a certain order at certain times. I really like that it’s extremely structured, but also very flexible! I found that after I read about it and really thought about it, I r…[Read more]

@E-N-leonard Whahahahahha! Good work! I really love the sacrifice you came up with for Jade. I can sense that it’s still rough, but I think you have the foundation for a good story here. Give me a while to mull over and pray about it and I’ll get back to you with more specifics. 🙂

@e-n-leonard @emily-waldorf Sorry I haven’t been active here! So…after yet another major plot overhaul, my friends finally convinced me to seriously study plot structure…and so here I am…back at square one…with very little plot to show you guys :’)

My regular joke has never worked this well. Mara looks as though she’s seen as ghost. Usually, people just laugh and ignore it for the rest.
”Isaias always talked about miracles. He said they were still possible, but I didn’t believe him. But —“ Mara’s eyes are wide with shock as she gestures toward my legs. They still ache, t…[Read more]

Here you go! I’m not totally happy with this, but I don’t feel like I can go any further without checking back with you.
Characteristic Moment–Emotional core: longing (What is the MC’s idea of the good life. Show us who that character is at the core.)
Jade, longing to become a ballerina, and keep those she loves from h…[Read more]

@E-N-Leonard Is the nuking of America and the rising of the Haven back story, or is it in the book? Also, who is a main character? I’m guessing Mara and Jade are the two MCs, no?
What I’m going to do, is get my outline template out and plug your story into it, where it fits, and then we can talk about it–What you need to add or cut or change.…[Read more]

Hello and welcome back! I’m sorry to hear about your ankle! I hope it heals quickly.
😂 he could… @lady-grace said she could drop in her Princess Julia to do it XD she’s such a thundercloud she’d probably want to. Julia can turn into a big black horse, so she can just send Saevus flying with a good kick.
Ah yes, ‘l…[Read more]

This…could take a while XD

@e-n-leonard I actually think Emily was talking about starting our own (between the three of us!)

@e-n-leonard @emily-waldorf that would actually be really fun! I think three is actually a really great number for something like that tbh – not too big, but not too small either

@e-n-leonard I have determined to write my WIP and risk failing. I can always rewrite it when I’m a better author.
@calidris sounds good! Also, can’t wait to see your blog!

@e-n-leonard my email address is above, if you ever want to reach out! Or, if there’s enough of us, we could nip over to the plotting forum and start a new thread.
I figure out the structure before I draft, so it doesn’t have to big me down later; maybe that’s something you could try.
Apparently 75% of women are better with characters, so…[Read more]

@e-n-leonard I know! I read the last nine chapters in 3 hours, with recurrence of the same strong emotion! That John 11 quote! How is it possible to switch from past to present tense for the last chapter. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. We must talk about it over tea someday. 🙂

@calidris no. My mom and sisters are, though! That’s frustrating, but it sounds normal. I think it’s related to my problem. I want my WIP to be absolutely perfect, and I’m scared that if I write it, it won’t be…I know, not the brightest philosophy, but there it is. I love plotting stories! Let me know if you ever think another brain would help–…[Read more]

Val:
I glance back as the wall behind me suddenly creaks, rolling forward with a grinding screech. “The room’s shrinking!” someone yells. I stumble, yanking Calix forward as the crowd surges around us. The walls in front roll back, parting as we flee the room. It’s so much darker in this new room. I shrink back as people bump into me, brus…[Read more]
