@claire-h Great suggestions! Thank you! I’m also a violinist, so that’s where that comes from…. 😉
@anne_the_noob14 I hadn’t thought about Judy as being pivotal, but I like that idea. Thanks so much!

OOOooooooo ok so I really love this?? That was really good!! 😀 😀
As far as suggestions go, I agree with what Claire already said about the different questions you could ask yourself. And reading through it again, Judy hit me as someone who could be pivotal, if you wanted her to be. She seems like she could know things. 🙂
Great job!! 😀

*applause*
First of all, I love this. (One reason being that I’m a violinist) So cool. Great job!
Now for suggestions… Maybe just ask yourself some questions. Who is Liz? Does she work for herself? Is she a paid assassin? The member of a secret society? An undercover agent? Who is the man she shot? How does killing people make her feel? Is she…[Read more]

Hello!
I haven’t been on SE for quite awhile, but after taking a creative writing class this past semester I thought I’d jump in again.
Soooo, this was a random scene knocking around in my mind that I couldn’t get rid of and I thought I’d post and see if y’all had any suggestions for it, or for where it could go because literally this is all…[Read more]

Oh. My Goodness. I love this!! I love thrillers, (my favorite genre), so this is up my alley! How much have you written so far? I would love to read more!
-
@theswordinthebook This is all so far! I have a few ideas for where it could go, but nothing is settled yet.

Livi Ryddle started the topic Sci-fi novella: How to write? in the forum Sci-fi Writers 6 years ago
K, so I have this idea for a sci-fi piece that I’m thinking is gonna be a novella. Thing is, there’s quite a lot of stuff that the readers need to understand before the story makes sense. Before the story really even “starts”. Cause it’s sci-fi. And I’m a little unsure how to go about giving the readers the info they need without info-dumping, ya…[Read more]

@katthewriter @everyoneelse
M’kay, so this is a WIP that isn’t even on paper/computer yet except for the basic outline, but it’s sci-fi, SO!
Title: Don’t have one yet lol. There’s lots of things it could be, so I’ll have to decide later on after I get the plot more developed.
Premise: Um, basically, people have been Pavloved to not feel emotion…[Read more]

I don’t know if mine counts as a true sci fi but here goes.
1939.
America falls in the late 2100s but the new Communist dictatorship never happenes as does the conquest of America. If Isaac succeeds in going back in time to change history so that Communism falls with Nazism in the Second World War. Trapped in the past, how will he change…[Read more]

I do! I looove Sherlock Holmes- some of my fav writing EVER. 🙂
I really like the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce movies. Really well done in my opinion, especially compared to some of the new ones that aren’t really my fav. XD

LOL! 😂
Ahhh. Yeah, that makes sense. I’m not a fan of that at all. I have a character of a Sherlock Holmes fan-fiction who is also the sister of Sherlock (Aylen Holmes) who has a lot of deductive power/skill, but she has an equally big mental flaw to combat that, haha.
Awesome to see a fellow Holmesian!

Haha. 😀 It’s true. If I ever meet anyone who doesn’t like Sherlock Holmes I’d be super surprised. (Now watch, I’ll probably meet someone who doesn’t)
The Enola Holmes were a bit big on having her be super powerful, like a super girl I guess, but they were still fun to read.
