You have a wonderful way of expressing things with your words. I really enjoyed reading the new portion! Great job! I especially liked the part about detracting attention by attracting it in a totally different way. Super cool. 👍:D

Nice!! I love it!
Random thing: She’s a beekeeper?! π My mom has kept bees for about 9 years? Give or take? So anyways I always find it cool to come across characters and “real” people alike who at least have some correct knowledge of bees π

@vic Thanks, Vic. π Β I enjoyed this section and Iβm looking forward to seeing how the story continues. Iβd love to find out the backstory of how Liz became an assassin and learn more about Dirk! π

Sam, you just go right ahead and write your story. Don’t worry about where I take mine!! 😉 That being said, here’s the next part. There’s some clarity about theme and purpose now, but it’s still more of an as-I-go project. ☺️

Also, you mentioned how you had the scene in your head but didn’t really have a plot or purpose. My story I am working on right now kinda has the same issues. I had a really awesome (sorta lol) first scene and I got that all written and I also have some other cool parts that I can’t wait to write later on in the book but transitioning is…[Read more]

I really enjoyed reading your story! I love your writing style. The suspense and mystery of the story and the way you wrote it kept me “on the edge of my seat” π
I think it is so awesome how so many people on SE play the violin. I do to. I enjoy playing it. Another reason why I love this story, because I can relate to just a little part of…[Read more]

@elisha-starquill M’kay, so I’m reading over your comments now…
I agree that it’d be interesting in 1st person π And I’m still giving serious thought to trying it… So we’ll see XD
Ah yes… I wasn’t sure quite how to refer to them, so I used those terms to make it easier for myself to know what I was talking about lol. So you’re saying have…[Read more]

Ah! Look at the marvelously long comments!! Which I mean in a very non-sarcastic way! I just skimmed over them now, and I’ll have to take time tomorrow to actually read through and think about them fully, but I saw several things that looked very helpful. π

@anne_the_noob14 – Mm, not that I have anything against 3rd person (and actually I’m extremely biased towards 1st person, so take this statement with a grain of salt xD) but I think this story would be interesting in 1st person. It might be harder to write and get in the zone of, but it’d be super cool to see what the thoughts of a non-emotional…[Read more]

*nods* Right. Got it. So this is where that little blurb on the inside of the jacket or on the back of the cover comes in handy π

@anne_the_noob14 – WOW what a super cool premise! π Seriously, I want to read that story NOW.
*ahem* My first instinct, like what @jenwriter17 said, is that the reader doesn’t need to know all that information up front. In fact I think it’s better that they don’t, a better hook, because it’s mysterious when the MC talks/thinks/references things…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 *nods* Let me give you a summary of the plot real quick…
MC lives in a country where every child, at birth, has some sensors and a receptor surgically implanted in his brain and shoulder, respectively. The point of this is to sense when the person is feeling a heightened level of emotion (very sad, very happy, etc.), and give the…[Read more]

@anne_the_noob14 Well, somebody else correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to have the reader know absolutely everything before the story actually starts. I would suggest just trying to weave it into the story, describing different things of the world as the characters interact with them.

@vic This was really cool! I enjoyed your vivid writing style. I also thought it was cool how sheβs an assassin and a violinist.
Hereβs a thought I had for a direction that you could take this: maybe Liz is a an assassin whose boss gives her assignments and she kills people without really knowing them. Then she ends up killing someone she…[Read more]
