Resolutions

I wrote my list of resolutions
Not to create my own solutions
I want to live like my Savior King
Always to seek His kingdom first thing

This list isn’t easy ones to keep
But my redemption wasn’t cheap
If Jesus died to redeem such souls
Least I can strive for these goals

My resolutions
To walk with You in the strait, narrow way
To always pour out my heart to you when I pray
To give until giving is all I’ve got
To lay up treasures that can’t be bought.
To shine the light into the darkest night
To lift my sword up in spiritual fight
My resolutions

All they can hold out is glitter and gold
While You offer me riches untold
Wealth of this world can’t compare to His
This is my resolution for this

Kingdoms may rage, scream against Jesus’ name
And they might burn with rebellion’s flame
I want to stand true, yet rest in Your hands
Anchor my heart on Your commands
