    Merry Christmas!!

    My Christmas Prayer
All the lights are hung, twinkling
Like a million stars glittering all over the walls
By the window the tree is shining
Crowned with a golden star, beaming its light throughout the halls
And each stocking stuffed full with gifts
And the sugar sweet flavor of cookies and pine still drifts
All around to the sound of wrapping paper wrinkling

    I am marveling, thinking of-
As I stand in the shadow of the holly on the door-
Why all this is done and what love
And redemption our Lord Jesus by His dying did pour
Out the greatest gift given men
And the story so glorious to us is written
Within I celebrate the day He came from above

As the hearth of fire warmly glows
    Eyes are steadily drifting closed
And a song decants through the air
I offer this hymn as my prayer

Father, Thank you for Christmas nights like this
For the little things I often dismiss
I am grateful for Your son, the Savior
    I’m undeserving of any Favor
I am asking that You would give me flame
To remind them You’re Christmas’ name
Lord, the world’s gone to madness, havoc reigns
But remind me Your stronger than these chains
Peace on earth seems so far away this year
In such times no glist’ning presents but tears
Father, I know you’re here inside me
On this cold, Christmas night I long to be
A reminder that You’re the Light of Christmas
    And that You’ll return victorious
    Amen

    Icy air comes hastening in
As I shrug on a coat. Without the house the wind has blown
Snow over the windows. A thin
Film of million flakes frosts over all the glass. They’ve flown
Down the lane to build their castles
As I tread drifts like I’m swimming in crystals
I am singing inside to my symphony played within

I ascend the crest of a hill
Looking out over vales packed with all the powdery snow
    Out here everything is still
Such a calm! All the struggling this scene could never know
On this hill a’glowing with lights
All this peace seems deceitful when all the world fights
I would make the whole world like this if I could do what I will

Out among the snow loaded trees,
I get down on my knees
As the snow swirls in the air
I offer this hymn as my prayer

Father, Thank you for Christmas nights like this
For the little things I often dismiss
I am grateful for Your son, the Savior
    I’m undeserving of any Favor
I am asking that You would give me flame
To remind them You’re Christmas’ name
Lord, the world’s gone to madness, havoc reigns
But remind me Your stronger than these chains
Peace on earth seems so far away this year
In such times no glist’ning presents but tears
Father, I know you’re here inside me
On this cold, Christmas night I long to be
A reminder that You’re the Light of Christmas
    And that You’ll return victorious
    Amen

As the snowing quickens I cry
Reaching up my hands to the sky
You are Holy, I’ll adore You
‘Spite conflicts are crowding my view
In this stillness I will raise
Up a Christmas chorus and praise
    You, the Highest, Brightest light
You’re the heart of Christmas tonight
This my Christmas prayer up to You
This my heart as life I walk through

Father, Thank you for Christmas nights like this
For the little things I often dismiss
I am grateful for Your son, the Savior
    I’m undeserving of any Favor
I am asking that You would give me flame
To remind them You’re Christmas’ name
Lord, the world’s gone to madness, havoc reigns
But remind me Your stronger than these chains
Peace on earth seems so far away this year
In such times no glist’ning presents but tears
Father, I know you’re here inside me
On this cold, Christmas night I long to be
A reminder that You’re the Light of Christmas
    And that You’ll return victorious
    Amen
