I LOVE this!! ❤❤❤ Being a writer of lyrical poetry, this poem has a lot of musical ‘feel’, if you will. It has some irregularity in the ryhtmn but that only lends to the ‘brokeness’ if the poem.

I think trains would fit, but I think that most of the time, trains wouldn’t be coming through very often, because of how poor the city is and how little it has to offer the rest of the world.

Megyn’s head pulsed with the hoofbeats. There must be at least eight horses. Maybe more. Where did they come from? 

Despite her outward unruffled appearance, her heart thrilled with excitement. I wish I could see. By the louder, distinct stride, the lead horse must be close.
