Don’t let it be said that we were the aggressors here; Rillumen is the last guild to enter the conflict.  However, our honor must be upheld.  To war we go.

Yesterday, our rival guilds New Wessex and Avensbeck began a war which we must now join.  The first battle is to be fought this week, through long nights and crammed lunch breaks.  Want to help?  Good.

The rules are simple. We have one week to complete this writing prompt. We get one submission as a guild. At least three people have to work on it together, but the more of us who get involved the better. For all competitions of this sort, submissions must be no longer than 2,500 words (there is no minimum limit). At the end of the week, we’ll learn which guild won.

The challenge is simple enough: Describe a sunset.  Once we’ve assembled our submission, we will submit it to a war council which will compare it to the submissions of our rivals.

UPDATE: while I was writing this I was having a bit of an opening volley with Daeus and yeah he’s pretty sure New Wessex has already bagged this one and so let’s put that theory to rest, okay?

Here’s the plan:

1. Lets list out all of the things we associate with sunsets.  Colors, emotions, actions, etc.
2. Once we have a list of those, we can talk about how we can /show/ each of those things in a short story/description.
3. Then, we can appoint a writing crew to hammer a first draft out.
4. Finally, we offer critiques and edits until I turn it in next Monday.
