      Kinda. Mostly just go to elfdict.com and put together random words for names or do the same thing with the glossaries in the back of my Tolkien books, but some of the words stick in my head. Or I remember the various phrases from the movies. Two phrases I have memorized:

      Mae Govannen=Well Met

      Hannon Le=Thank You

      And that’s about it.

            I do very much hope so! *makes mental note–wink, wink, @joelle-stone XD–to post later*

              @mischievous-thwapling,

              *stares uncertainly at you* *understanding dawns* *winks back but you’ve already given up on me getting it and have looked away* XD

              ,

              Mae g’ovannen was my first phrase to learn. 😀 I used elfdict too, until I found this awesome website: http://sindarinlessons.weebly.com/

                LOL XD (Speaking of mental notes, I’m gonna put one into practice before I forget what I filed away on it: Have you had the chance to propose the Gollum-inspired names to you father yet? XD)

                  @mischievous-thwapling,

                  Ooh, thx for reminding me! (*wink wink*) And I did propose it, but my dad decided to go with Meat and Remeat (have you ever heard the Pete and Repete joke? If you haven’t, then the names won’t make much sense. :))

                    LOL, that’s pretty good too, though! So then, Anonymous Cow is no longer anonymous? (Which name is he, btw?)

                      @mischievous-thwapling,

                      Nay, I’m afraid he art no longer anonymous. He hath been dubbed Meat. (Meat and Remeat had been born. Meat was kicked out. Who was left? XD)

                        Um… I’m lost. Can someone explain this to me?

                          P.S. Kinnan, thanks for the link! You’re right, it is easier! (explanation for this: I clicked on the link, and when I realized that it was Sindarin lessons, I asked my mom if I could do it–because it’s Sindarin lessons and that would be really fun to learn, even though I’m already learning French and Latin–and she said to ask Dad. So, when Dad got home form work, I asked him, and he said yes. So, I am now learning Sindrin! Hannon Le for the link!)

                            @kylie-wingfeather,

                            Whoops, sorry, we lapsed into inside joke mode. XD Basically, my family raises cows and of the four years that we’ve been here, the four cows that we’ve bred, and the nine or ten bulls that have fathered our calves, we have had exactly thirteen calves. One didn’t make it this year, sadly. But the interesting part is that all thirteen have been bulls (what are the chances?!). This year, as if to top the cake, one of our cows gave birth to TWIN bulls, who my dad named Meat and Remeat. 🙂 The other bulls have all had food-y names, but my personal favorite (name wise, not bull wise) was Sir Loin. XD

                            So that’s the general gist of it. Thwapling made a mental note somewhere else to ask me if I had told my dad my name suggestions for the twins (Stinker and Slinker), so then I made a mental note to thank her for reminding me. 🙂

                            Also, no problem! (I have no clue how to say “You’re welcome” in Sindarin.) The lessons are really great (and ha ha, that kind of thing happens at my house all the time!).

                              Ahhh… That makes a lot more sense! And I think (I peeked ahead at the food and drink lesson) that for ‘you’re welcome’ it might be ‘my pleasure’ or ‘I ‘ell nÃŪn’. I’m probably wrong though…

                              @mischievous-thwapling

                              Absolutely wonderful new quote!

                                Aha! I’m actually on that lesson. I’ve got almost all of the first section of vocabulary done, but I haven’t looked at the second one. 🙂 Gin hannon, mellon!

                                  And, yes, as Joelle Stone explained so well, it’s a bunch of inside jokes XD She and I have known each other somewhere outside of SE and the old Wingfeather site, so we’ve accumulated many inside jokes/conversations XD

                                  @joelle-stone

                                  XD Poor Meat….I still strongly dislike Mama Meat. *glares at the cow, then writes her an angry email about taking care of one’s child, even if it’s animal instinct/nature/whatever*
