January 30, 2021 at 1:37 pm #124443AMBERLEY’S POV
I look up when we hear screaming. People fly past, and I catch a glimpse of a boy with bright blue eyes. Then we start running. Fang darts past Leeli and I hold out my hand and grab her, pulling her onto the gigantic dog. I hate to abandon my wheelchair, but I have no choice. From the way people are scattering, I’d say it’s my life, or my chair. I’d rather have my life. Fang whirls around, and I see a terrifying sight. An old woman, being lifted up into the air by owls. A storm spins around her, and I scream. I know that woman, and if I’m right, it’s really bad news. Her amber, owlish eyes fall on me and Leeli, and a cold, horrible, sneer takes over her face. She pulls out a jar, opens the lid, and points it at me. All of a sudden, I feel like my soul is ripped from my body. “FANG, GO!!!” He starts to run, and I fall into unconsciousness.

January 30, 2021 at 2:09 pm #124444P.S. Amberley just passed out, not turned to stone, because when this was started, I think I said if a villain (or villainess) has magic, it’s not gonna work exactly the same in the Castle. So Macha still has power, but it’s not gonna be the same as in her own world.

January 30, 2021 at 7:42 pm #124448AMBERLEY’S POV
As I fell into unconsciousness, I could hear shouting. “Amberley!” Someone yelled, and all turned to black. Then came the dreams.
*Flashback*
I was seven, laughing, wheeling after my brother, who was running ahead, yelling “Come and get me!” My parents came out of the office, smiling with tears in their eyes. “Amberley, you’re getting the surgery. You’ll be able to walk.
*Change Flashback*
After the surgery, laughing and crying as I took my first, wobbly step, clutching Emberyn’s arm. “Mom, Dad, I’m walking!”
*Change Flashback*
I was twelve, riding with Emberyn on the trail behind the stables. It had just rained the night before. “Be careful.” Dad said before we left. “It’ll be slippery.”
*Change Flashback*
Thunder slipping, and throwing me. Flying through the air, too startled to scream. Hitting the rocks. The fiery explosion of pain in my back. The scream of pure pain breaking loose. Falling into unconsciousness.
*Change Flashback*
Waking up in the hospital a week later. My brother, crying silently, as he told me my back had snapped. I wouldn’t walk again.
*Change Flashback*
Sitting on Thunder’s back. Emberyn beside me, on Lightning. We had tied for first place at the barrel race. “Amberley.” Riding towards Mom and Dad, holding the trophy so hard my hand hurt. “Amberley, wake up!”
*End Flashback*
My eyes fluttered open and met Emberyn’s worried eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, yeah. A little bit of Amberley and Emberyn’s past. Possibly unrealistic, but I tried my best.
I know! I’m so sorry about that!! I only saw your post until after I posted mine, and then I was frantically trying to edit before I had to leave! I only had a few minutes, and, therefore, wasn’t able to think straight — otherwise I would just have erased the whole silly post and been done with it! *face-palms* Anyway….
Speaking of villains…. I love Darth Vader; he’s possibly my most favorite villain in the entire world. Can I, soon, bring him in and act as him???????? After Macha????? Please????? He won’t force choke anyone, I promise 😉 I would just LOVE to have him meet Ahsoka and Rex and the clones, and see how’ll he’ll deal with that — and I just want to play as him because I’ve still got a little child in me 😛
Anyhow, does Macha have a backstory? If so, could you tell me about it? I always want to hear the villain’s backstory, ha ha. 😀
And Amberley’s story is so sad! 🙁 I hurt for her, but she has taken it like a pro! You have a very strong character right there.
Hehe, it’s fine. Stuff like that has happened to me too.
Sounds great to me! Anakin and Darth Vader are the same person, right?
I don’t know to much about her, but what I do know about her:
-Took her son’s (a giant named Mac Lir) emotions, and turned him to stone.
-Owl Witch
-Turns people to stone by taking emotions (see above).
And that’s basically all I know.
And Amberley’s story is so sad! I hurt for her, but she has taken it like a pro! You have a very strong character right there.
Yeah, and it’s gonna come through a lot more I’m sure.
January 30, 2021 at 10:44 pm #124461JANNER’S POV
Janner was running from the Owl-Lady, when he heard Emberyn scream “AMBERLEY!” and turned in time to see the paralyzed girl slide off of Fang’s back, unconscious. She hit the stone floor, and lay there, motionless. Leeli, who was on Fang, paused and nudged the boarhound towards Amberley, but Fang disagreed, backed up, and darted towards the others. Ahsoka handed the man she had been dragging to Hagrid, and rushed towards Amberley, wielding her lightsabers at the many owls that pelted her. Crazy-Owl-Lady screamed at her “NO! THE GIRL IS MINE!” but Ahsoka ignored her. She reached Amberley and yanked her small form over her shoulder, and ran towards the others.
Yes! And I love them both 😀
Ooo, turning one’s son to stone is bad. *Shakes head and clucks tongue* Thank you!
Yeah, and it’s gonna come through a lot more I’m sure.
Can’t wait to see!!!! 😉
The girl is heavier than I thought, but adrenaline has taken over my body and I can feel it flowing through my veins. “Not this one this time, Owl-lady,” I growl. I reach Traps just before I drop her.
“Take her!”
He hoists the girl over his shoulder and shoots an owl right before it hits him in the head, and I turn back to the Owl-lady, whose personal storm has really begun to reflect her vile insides. I ignite both my lightsabers and turn to several clones as they shepherd the others away.
“Cover me.”
May the Force protect all of them. With that, I race toward the old woman amid the blaster fire and leap into the air with a yell. I plant both my feet into her chest and then flip over and skid to a stop behind her. She toppled over, but she is riding her storm and quickly regains herself. She turns to me with a sickening smile. Her amber eyes glow like they are reflecting lava.
“Come, little one. There is no where you can run.” She unscrews a jar and holds it out toward me.
“Let’s see about that.”
I leap toward a wall and bounce off of it, landing on the opposite side. But the jar, like a magnet, immediately swivels toward me, and my head starts to pound. “Ahhh!” I grab the side of my montrals and clench my teeth. “Uggg!” My thoughts start to race in spite of myself.
Anakin! I love you! I’m so sorry! Please, protect the others! Please, brother; come!
I fall to my knees.
Then, the pain wavers and my eyes widen. I hear a blaster shot.
Rex.
He’s leaning against the wall opposite me, one of his blaster aimed at the Owl-lady. “Take that, you old-maid,” I hear him say. Then he stumbles. The old woman has a jar opened up to him.
The storm increases, and Rex screams.
“REX!” I scream back, and I try to stand, but I cannot. I feel tears filling my eyes. “No. No, no, no.” I can’t think of anything else.
Then, I hear a mighty cry. It has only been several minutes since I attacked the Owl-lady, but it seems that Janner and Kalmar and Harry and Hermione have rallied the others, and they are closing in on the old woman. Lasers whiz through the air, and I hear Hermione and Harry and Ron’s voices calling out spells and see flashes of magic. I hear Hagrid’s beast roaring, and I see Janner and Kalmar batting at owls and hear the sweetest music I have ever heard (Leeli).
Just before I black out, I pray they will survive.
I believe they will.
Shoot that fire right through my soul.January 31, 2021 at 10:10 am #124464Hermione’s PoV
The assault on the Owl Witch continued, with Janner and Kalmar leading the charge. Leeli’s music floated melodiously above the fray. Harry, Ron, and Hermione covered the clone troopers, blasting any owl that dared near one of the soldiers.
Hermione gasped as she saw first Rex, and then Ahsoka fall to the floor, succumbing to Macha’s powers. Hermione angrily hexed an owl and then dashes forward to Janner.
“We have to get everyone out of here!” She cried.
“Wait! I have a plan!” Janner yelled over the wind. “Hit the jars!”
Hermione raised her wand and focused on the glass jar within Macha’s talon-like fingers. Hermione grew anxious as the Owl Witch never seemed to stop moving. Finally, she had an opening. With a flick of her wand she sent a sliver of destructive light toward Macha. The jar exploded, sending shards of glass everywhere. Macha screeched in anger and retrieved another jar, turning to Hermione as she opened it.
“You will pay for that, little witch,” Macha sneered.
Another blast, not Hermione’s, shattered the second jar. Macha looked down unbelievingly, and then looked to Harry and Ron with a snarl. She snatched another jar from her cloak, but that was shattered by Hermione. Macha attempted to draw three more jars but those too were shattered by the young magicians. With an awful, grating cry Macha rose into the air on her storm, and in a violent swirl of feathers, she vanished.
“This is not over yet, children. You shall meet me again,” her voice haunted the air long after her disappearance.~~~
Sorry can’t say much leaving for church now!!
January 31, 2021 at 1:32 pm #124468LEELI’S POV
Leeli raised her whistleharp to her lips and played Call of the Moonraiders. The melody swirled around the hall, and the owls shrieked, and fell back. Leeli got the impression that if they could cover their ears, they would gladly do so. Ahsoka had reached one of the strange men she had come back with, and given Amberley to him. The young girl was limp, and hung over his shoulder. Ahsoka rushed back into battle, whirling her lightsabers faster than the eye could blink. Emberyn had seized one of the swords on the wall, and swung it fiercely, angry that the witch lady had hurt his sister. Janner and Kalmar had teamed up, and were back-to-back, swinging their swords at every owl in sight. Hagrid was swinging his massive fists, and Fang barked and growled. Leeli also noticed that her song effected Macha. She tried to point some of her jars at Leeli, but one of the wizards’ spells always got in her way. Then she was gone, and her voice faded from the hall. Emberyn had rushed to the man who held his sister and took her from him, leaning against the wall so he could hold her weight. Janner and Kalmar had hugged Leeli so tightly that she thought her ribs would shatter. Nobody had died, thankfully, but some were wounded, either from the owls, or Macha’s jars.
oOo
EMBERYN’S POV
When I took Amberley from the man-no, clone as I had heard from someone during the battle, my fear doubled in size. Am was cold and pale, and she didn’t even stir when I took her. I looked around, slain owls lay on the floor, and several people were unconscious.
Someone found a large, communal room, with several doors to bedrooms and a small passage leading to another room of the same kind. We debated, and decided that one of the communal rooms, Communal B, would be used for the injured, while the other, Communal A, would be for the rest of us. We also decided that these rooms, with the only door out into the hallway in Communal A, would be our headquarters, in case Macha came back. Several clones had been sent to retrieve food from the kitchen. I carried Amberley to Communal B, and one of the clones took her to a cot. I followed him, but he told me to go back if I wasn’t injured. “We’ll call you when she is settled.” He said, not unkindly, and I headed back to Communal A. I looked around, and spotted Janner and Leeli, talking to a boy, who must be their brother. I headed over there, trying not to step on the feet of people who were trying to sort others into rooms. Janner saw me, and called out, “Emberyn! Amberley alright?” I reached them and said “Yeah, but they forced me out.” Janner raised an eyebrow, then turned to his brother. “Emberyn, this is my brother, Kalmar. Kalmar, this is Emberyn…” “Fletcher,” I said extending my hand. “Emberyn Fletcher.”"I read that book, and it affected me." ~my sister, about the Warrior Cats.
January 31, 2021 at 1:45 pm #124469You should definitely bring Vader in!
So, how exactly do Macha’s powers work now? Do they make people experience pain/become weaker, and do they still affect emotions?
What I know in my head and what I believe in my heart are two entirely different things.
I groan and turn over on . . . a plump, soft sofa? Sitting up, I put a hand to my forehead and slowly open my eyes, blinking to adjust to the light. Where . . ? I quickly put my hands to my belt and sigh in relief to feel my lightsabers. Who ever rescued me made sure to bring them along.
With that thought, I remember everything, and I narrow my eyes and growl. I messed up completely. I was brash, just like Anakin. At that I can’t help but smile. But, like Master Kenobi would say, I have learned from my mistake. I know now how to bring that Owl-lady down. I shouldn’t want revenge, though, I chide myself. It’s not the Jedi way.
My head is still throbbing, but my vision is clear. When I stand my legs are wobbly, but as soon as I get the blood flowing I’ll be alright. The room I’m in is large and square, with several lounge sofas, a couple low sitting tables, and many colorful plush rugs. The light is provided by means of several golden chandeliers and highly decorative lamps. There are no windows, I see with disappointment. It must be a chamber far inside the castle/palace/prison/whatever-this-place-is. I’m still completely exasperated not knowing where in the galaxy we are.
I see the girl laying on one of the sofas, and my heart drops. She doesn’t look good. Neither does Rex. There are several other troopers, but I can see them start to move and hear them moan. Rex and the girl took the dark force bad. I wonder how that woman got that kind of power, and it doesn’t seem like anything Dooku could have taught her.
I carefully walk to Amberley’s side, making sure not to fall on her with my unsteady feet, and feel her pulse. It’s slow, but steady. I put a hand on her forehead. It is cold and clammy. “I’m so sorry,” I whisper, covering her with a blanket.
Next, I crouch down next to one of the waking troopers laying on a makeshift mattress. “Hey,” I say under my breath, “are you all right?”
He has a long scar running across his forehead and his head is shaved. “Not as good as before, that’s for sure,” he grunts, and I smile. The clones are tough.
I make my way over to Rex. His pulse is like the girl’s, and his face just as cold. He must have convinced Hagrid to let him come back to try and protect me. I shake my head and sigh. I need to go to the others and figure out what to do.
I walk to the door and gently ease it open, still not ready to barge about the place. I enter a small hallway, which leads to several other rooms. Behind the closest door I hear the muffled voices of the others, and I step inside.
They are sitting in a room similar to the one I was just in and are talking around a large table, on which I see several clones handing out bread, cheese, meat, and some sort of white, frothy drink. “Not the best, but I’ve had worse!” Traps says as he tears into a hunk of meat, and the others laugh.
Then Harry looks up and sees me. “Ahsoka! You feeling better?”
“Not as good as before!” I answer with a grin. “But we need to figure out what we’re going to do if we want to stay alive. The others,” I jerk my thumb back over my shoulder, “are okay for now.”
Everyone nods emphatically, and Janner speaks up. “We should wait until the clones and Amberley are awake to do anything.”
“That,” Hermione adds, “or leave several guards with them while we try to find a way out of here. Then we can come back for them.”
“Right,” I say, folding my arms, “but first we need to come up with a plan. That Owl-lady could probably send her minions out after us. The power is in the jars, apparently. Does anyone here know anything about her?”
After a moment, Emberyn (he knows about Macha, right?) says, “she is the Owl-Witch of Ireland, and she takes folks souls. Then, when she has all of their emotion, they turn to stone. I think that’s enough said.”
The clones immediately start talking and Leeli, Janner and Kalmar exchange worried glances with Ron, Harry, Hagrid, and Hermione.
“But,” Emberyn continues, and everyone quiets, “I don’t think her magic works the same here. It is in those jars, so if we can break those, she’s powerless.”
“Exactly,” I say. “So we’ll have to aim for the jars first and foremost if we are attacked again. I assume our goal is to get out of here? I’m afraid none of us know the layout of this place?” They shake their heads and I sigh again.
“We’ll be like blind Gungans,” a clone scoffs.
I light the arrow, pull the bow,
Shoot that fire right through my soul.February 1, 2021 at 1:19 pm #124507EMBERYN’S POV
I felt fear. Amberley would have known what to do about Macha. She was always the authority on myths and legends, while I was more of a math and science person. All of us in Communal A were silent for a moment, then a clone came into the room. “Emberyn, your sister is about to ‘wake.” I jumped up and dashed to Communal B. Amberley twitched and moaned under her breath. “Amberley.” Her eyes fluttered. “Amberley, wake up!” Her eyes shot open, and they looked around wildly, before focusing on me. “Emberyn.”
