“Linea Realm? I believe my mother and father have mentioned it to me before.” She bravely picked up a bow and arrow like she knew how to use it, even though she had never even picked one up before, and aimed it at a nearby target. She let go of the arrow just like she had seen her father do often, but it landed directly at her feet. Her face turned a deep shade of red and she looked over to see if the tall boy had noticed.

Kallun smiled. “You have good form, and if taught to use properly, could probably do it well.” He picked up the arrow. “I’m not the best at archery, but I can show you.”

The embarrassment quickly faded and she handed him the bow.

He pulled the arrow back against the string of the bow. “Pull it back, far as you can. Make sure your elbow is back, slightly up. Your wrist should line up with your jaw.” His was so, “Aim a little higher than where you wish to hit, for the arrow will lose its momentum as it travels. If your outside, then you need to factor in the wind as well.” He let go.

She took the bow from his hands and picked up another arrow. Doing exactly as he had told her, she released the arrow and hit the target exactly in the center. “I did it!” She cheered. She picked up another arrow and shot again. This arrow also landed in the center of the target. She was definitely keeping bow as her weapon.

Kallun’s mouth hung open.. “You… you’re good…” He stammered.

Kallun nodded, sheathing a sword. “I’ve seen this wizards work before, not just with our people. He makes it difficult to find him, but leaves some sort of clues along paths. You said you’re good with puzzles. Let’s put that to the test, shall we?”

She looked at him wide-eyed. She never expected that her joke would become real life. “Um…ok.” She tried her best to sound convincing and brave, but the doubt rang in her voice. “What supplies do you think we’ll need? Remember, I’m the Princess. There isn’t much I don’t have access to.”

“Well…” Kallun grinned slightly, “I was hoping there would be enough room here..” He said jokingly.

“Fair enough. Follow me and I can show you your room.” She set the bow down and took him to a room with tall doors. “Everything you need is in here. I will come back here in the early morn then we can go collect food and other essentials we will need.”
