Of course, as soon as it started to rain Arsene started to grin even more mischievously than before. He swished his cape around to an exotic, theatrically rich look.

    Alessio sighed dramatically.

“Whatever you’re thinking it’s a bad idea, don’t do it.” He said in a resigned voice

“Come on, I’m going to get us shelter.”

“We’re all going to die.” Alessio sighed again.

Time passed, or rather it crawled.

Alessio was shivering and bored. But the lady who’d been chasing them on the boat – how’d she get here? – had some interesting device for a mobile shelter. He could talk to her, the assassin who wants to kill him, or the guy who punched his friend. Or he could just shut up and shiver in silence.

“You – “Alessio said menacingly to Arsene’s Look-Alike. “if you harm my friend again I’ll stab you.”

Then he promptly ignored the guy. Mechanically, Alessio made a motion to rub his arms, was cut off by the handcuffs, and huffed. Several more minutes past and Alessio was bored to tears stuck in one place with nothing to think about but his own imminent demise. He let out a slow, hopeless breath and glanced at the Petite-Will-Murder-You Lady who also seemed like the “safest” person to talk to here.

“Soo…you’re Arsene’s girlfriend…?” That didn’t sound right, but he was desperate for some sort of information and literally nothing sounded right when it came to Arsene!

    After a while, Arsene returned.

“Where have you been, you twit?” Evil Look-Alike immediately snapped and Alessio glared daggers at him.

“I was arranging a couple hotel rooms for us.” Arsene smirked. He didn’t seem at all upset with insults. Alessio didn’t know exactly what a ‘hotel’ but he imagined something similar to an inn which…sounded ok but this was Arsene they were talking about.

Whatever, he didn’t exactly have any better options right now so they all just kinda went along with it. Nithel probably would’ve wanted more assurance this was legal or something, he should really press Arsene about that but he honestly just wanted out of the rain.

They came across some filthy rich, luxurious place Alessio secretly prayed they were just passing by. But noooo, of course not, Arsene walked straight in.

I’ll sleep in the barns or anywhere marginally dry. All I request is you not get me into even more trouble.

“Dear sir, now that my companions and I are soaking wet, please give me the keys to our rooms.” That might’ve been as good imitation of a haughty voice if it didn’t sound so satirical and over the top how could anyone possibly fall for that!?!?

But the man he was talking to was just bewildered and trying to play his role and not think enough to get in trouble.

“Of course, give me your names please.” He attempted, by now Alessio was already feeling sorry for him.

“Tell you my name!” Arsene gasped “Tell you my name! Why, do you not recognize Thurston Howell the Third when you see him!? My dear boy, I think you need to cool off.”

    Alessio facepalmed.

Immediately, Arsene shook his cape flinging droplets EVERYWHERE just for the sheer joy of being a nuisance, and then pulled something out of his cloak.

“My card, if you will.” What kind of idiot falls for Arsene’s acting skills, that’s it, they’re all going to die he knew it they’re all about to die!! But, in an instant, Arsene had swiped a key from the rack. Oh. It didn’t matter how bad an actor Arsene was as long as it was distracting.

“Oh well,” Arsene said in a world-weary tone. “I guess I’ll have to seek out my friend, Mr R. E. Morgan.”

And with that Arsene led them off to another door, sighing in the most stupidly exhausted manner he could get away with.

“Goodbye.” He said as if going off on a ten-year journey to a certain death he didn’t expect to return from.

“I’m sorry about my companion,” Alessio hastily apologized to the poor victim of Arsene’s theatrics. “he gets this way sometimes.”

With that they were let off into a…Alessio took one look at the elevator and planted his feet.

“I’m not going in there.” He hissed. It had no windows, it was a small, enclosed space and he was absolutely under no circumstances getting stuck in that.

To be a light to the world you must shine in the darkness.

Hi guys! *waves shyly* Long time no see!
(Thurston Howell the III… very well done… dx)

Leana reined up beside the field hospital, and swung from the saddle. She tripped toward the tent, passing the reins to a solider. Her thighs ached, and her cheeks were rosy from the cold wind rushing into her face. But when she pulled back the tent flap, intending to report her message, she found herself stepping into an opulent hallway from behind a heavy window curtain.

Leana’s jaw dropped as her feet sank into a thick scarlet carpet, which ran the length of the hall. Strange candles glowed bright as the sun, from the ceiling. Doors ran along both sides, of shined wood. But there was no art to them, like the doors her father made… Merely functional beauty.

There was a group of people, standing and bickering, in the middle of the hall. One was firmly shaking his head, legs planted wide like he expected to be dragged someplace. The roar of more people came from, likely, a larger space behind them.

Leana licked her lips and fisted her hands, clutching her navy woolen skirt. What in Zounds?

For those of you who aren’t aware I am now dropping in Jedi Knight General Con Ensin, of Clan Ensin, House Vizsla. (Yes, he is a Mandalorian)

Con softly approached a door. Voices outside could be heard, angry voices at that. It seemed as if one person was in trouble with whoever owned this place.

Sighing, Con looked around for a way out. Aside from the window, the door was the only way out of this darkened room.

Forming a plan, Con leapt to the window, opened it, and vaulted out. Igniting his jetpack, he flew over the building through the rain to a window at the end of the hall. Landing on the roof, he attached a cable from his belt to the pole at the roof peak, and then began descending down towards the window.

When he reached the window, he went to the side and, using the sensors in his helmet, scanned through the wall towards the angry group. But…there was someone else. Just in front of the window. Peering through the window, he saw a young lady standing there.

Who is that? Con wondered. And what is with that group down there? What is going on, why do they sound angry, and what are they doing here? Heck, how did I get here? This place is much more low tech than Braxt, or even the Avenger. What is going on?

Con shook his head, and softly opened the window, using the Force to keep all noises made covered. He then entered, and approached the lady from behind. Then-

    “Hello there.”

    “Hello there.”

Leana gave a quick screech and swung around, in start. Her hands fisted together, swinging too, hopefully bruising whatever infernal male-

Thunk. Her hands hit a helmet. “Owww…” She growled under her breath and glanced down at her hands, recoiling backward. Her heart thundered, eyes flashing up. He didn’t look like one of those homesick boys she could ward off with a solid whack with a spoon. Heh…

Leana took a careful step back, then a second, smiling meekly up at him. Woe… So… I’m… heh… uhh… Her hands slowly slid to her hip, where a leather strap is draped over a rope around her waist. A small leather pouch hangs beside that. “Hi.” She gave him the brightest (terrified) smile she could muster. I’m… gonna make hay while… err…  She swallowed hard, face turning serious. “What do you want?”

He dug his heels as Sir Scary let out a muttered curse and started to yank him forward.

“I’ll scream I’ll convince everyone you’re kidnapping me you can’t make me get in there!” Alessio threatened barely in a whisper, his voice beginning to border hysteric. Almost instantly a fist landed a hair’s breadth from his head as he ducked, catching the fist. Sherlock’s fist.

He glared, preparing to return a blow when there was a loud smash across from them.

“I’ve decided I need some exercise to get out of this horrible drama so I’m taking the stairs!” Arsene crooned, swiping a hand over his hand with theatric despair. Whatever he broke, it made the box unworkable or something because everyone groaned and cursed.

Alessio released a shaky breath, compulsively clenching and unclenching his trembling hands as if to work out the tension. It’s ok now it’s ok he won’t get trapped in – he blinked back all-too-vivid bloodied, stenching images. Why did Arsene do that?

Alessio made eye-contact with the robber giving a grateful look despite himself. He relaxed just a little, still processing, when a girl who he’d only just seen in the corner of his eye swung her fist at a guy who leered behind her suddenly.

Her punch didn’t have much of an effect, she retreated a couple steps with a nervous smile, her hands slipping to something on her waist. A knife? She was clearly lost and isolated – if someone were looking for easy prey, she’d fit the profile. Now she was saying something but all Alessio could sense was her anxiety.

“Hey, is there something you want to say, sir?” Alessio said without thinking, faintly menacingly, as if to make it very clear what might happen if he scared this complete stranger Alessio just compulsively adopted.

Devils, why did I do that?

They’re all going to kill me…

The loud smash behind her, made Leana’s eyes widen. She put her back against the wall, not a door, but still looked at the helmeted man. His voice had sounded kind, teasing. But she wished she could see his face, his eyes.

More voices off to the side.

Her hands hovered over the small pouch.

“Hey, is there something you want to say, sir?”

She nearly jumped to the ceiling again, at the voice. But somehow didn’t. She looked at the new guy, then the masked man, back and forth. She chose to be silent, not sure about either of them, but sensing a warmth in the second man’s voice, even if strong. Warning. A bit of fear too, underneath it all. Ack. I hope you both are nice and don’t start…

Con smiled slightly under his helmet as the girl jumped back and screamed. She then swung around and slammed a fist into Con’s helmet, which he barely noticed.

Breathing heavily, she looked at him. She took a few small steps back. “Hi…what do you want?” She said.

Con was silent for a moment. Then-

“I am Con Ensin, of Clan Ensin, of House Vizsla. I am the second Mandalorian to be a member of the Jedi Order, the First being Tarre Vizsla, the creator of the Darksaber. I am the Leaderof the Elite group of Mandalorian warriors known as The Brothers of The Blade. But enough about me…who are you? And what is this place?” Con asked.

Oh… Woe. Leana straightens her shoulders, some, and rubs her hands together nervously. She had no idea what most of that meant, but assumed he was important. In some way. Some how. Maybe a prince of his clan?

She cast a quick glance to the second guy, and back to ‘Con’. She searched her brain, for what the name meant. Dad always knows right away… She bows, slightly, “Hello, Brave Counsel.” I hope that’s right. ‘Ram’s Horn’, or ‘Horn’, would be other options… or ‘Pig’s Horn’… or…
    ‘Brave Counsel’ was safest.
“I am Leana, daughter of Nithel.” She almost says what country she’s from, but decides that might not be smart.

Clans were used in Darya or Kent, right? The Twin Bek States? But… they weren’t advanced enough to have… such a building, as this, right? Maybe Kent was. And how did I get here? *continued running thoughts, but she keeps her mouth shut* Her blue eyes dart from Con, to the other man, back to Con.

The girl nearly flinched when Alessio spoke, darting looks back and forth between them. He winced. Couldn’t he just try to be a little more reassuring and it wasn’t even his business he wouldn’t be surprised if she thought he was some sort of creep now! Whatever, as long as he backed off…or was proved to not be a threat.

Alessio just wanted to crawl into a corner and pass out he was so tireddd.

“I am Con Ensin, of Clan Ensin, of House Vizsla. I am the second Mandalorian to be a member of the Jedi Order, the First being Terre Vizsla, the creator of the Darksaber.” The new guy – Con – said. Oh no, he was still going… “I am the Leader of the Elite group of Mandalorian warriors known as The Brothers of The Blade.

“But enough about me…who are you? And what is this place?”

Shut up, don’t over-react and only do something if she’s in actual danger.

“Hello, Brave Counsel.” Did she just translate his name?! Alessio glanced at her sharply. No, that couldn’t be right, but her features were almost – “I am Leana, daughter of Nithel.”

“Nithel?” Alessio stammered “Nithel, son of Father – you’re – ?!”

Honestly even though Nithel had told him he had children, the idea hadn’t quite hit home until now. And for some reason he’d still imagined small children like five or six year olds even though he’d said…

    “You’re the eldest then! Um, I mean…” He’d said his eldest daughter was about Alessio’s age…wait… “I…”

    His brain promptly short-circuited.

Before Nathair could think, the other one burst in – that king fellow, yanking him to his feet very heroically. They made a mad dash for the tunnels and somehow made it out alive. Miles instantly set to bandaging the Blind Guy – yeesh were they ever going to get his name?

“Thanks for that,” Nathair said, breathlessly after the run, and eyed the king suspiciously. “but why’d you do it?”

Miles had had a better chance of survival if he’d just kept running. Wasn’t the idea to save your own skin first?

(Quick translation: Con: short for Confident / Ensin: variation of the Latin word Ensis which means sword.)

    CON

“Hello, Brave Counsel,” she said, bowing slightly. Brave Counsel? Con wondered. “I am Leana, daughter of Nithel.”

Con could tell that she was nervous, as her eyes kept darting back and forth over the place. And on top of that, Con could sense her fear. A path to Dark Side, that is…

“Nithel?” Someone nearby stammered. “Nithel, son of Father – you’re – ?!”

Con whipped around, pulling out his lightsaber, but not igniting it. He turned to face two people handcuffed together, and being corralled by a third guy.

“You’re the eldest then! Um, I mean…I…” He said before his brain apparently cut out.

Con watched all the proceedings with wonder. Who was Nithel? What was going on?!?!?

Reaching up, Con removed his helmet. His face was kind, but hardened by war. A small beard covered his angular lower jaw. His deep blue eyes spoke of battle after battle.

Tucking his helmet under his left arm, he looked at Leana.

”Would you please tell me what this place is if you know?” He asked politely.

    MILES

Miled finished applying the bandages to Blind Guy. Then he looked up to Nathair.

“Don’t mention it,” he said. “But that is a good question. The answer? Because, it’s just who I am. If I see someone in danger, I will help them, no matter what. It’s just who I am.

“Now for that…thing. How do we kill that? And what can we even kill it with? I only have my sword, shield, and several knives. What about y’all?”

    @ethan-leonard (Ooh. Cool! Thanks.)

Leana jumped again when Con jerked something from his belt, but… it just looked like the pummel of a sword. It could be dangerous. And when swords were a mite scarce…

Con’s lensed gaze seemed to be surveying Leana and the small clump of others. She felt minuscule, but noticed.

He removed his helmet, but her mind was on the unnamed man’s words. The thrill in his voice at the mention of Nithel’s name. Her heart skipped a beat and then leapt with hope. He knows my father. Leana almost interrupted Con, but managed to keep her mouth clamped shut.

”Would you please tell me what this place is if you know?” His tone was stunningly polite as he looked into her eyes. Gentle.

    But strong.

Battered by war. Whose weren’t, these days?  She liked his beard, and heard his words, even though her mind was pulling in a different direction.

“I don’t know, sir.” Leana’s voice was soft but clear. She looked at Unnamed, beside her. Tears of joy burned her eyes, but she tried to hold them down. You know my father? Con would want them to say where they were. She did too. But… “You know my father, sir?” Her voice was soft as air. “You- He is alive, isn’t he? When was the last time you saw him? Was my brother with him?” She begged the Star Breather they were alright, even though she knew they weren’t safe. Father always said the Star Breather heard. Father acted like he knew Him. She still didn’t understand, but she believed Nithel despite.

No, they didn’t. They did everything they could to save you. Shut up!”

    “GO AWAY!”

It took Hades time to realize the Bloodlust nearly triggered. He needed to calm down quickly. He could not afford to snap here, not in front of all these people.

“You- He is alive, isn’t he? When was the last time you saw him? Was my brother with him?”

Quietly, Hades started to play his music box. It always helped him get things under control. He had it ever since childhood and always carried it with him. He had it hidden in his bag under his long coat, where he could use it any time he wanted.

Alessio, you better answer her. I can only hold the Bloodlust off for so long.”

Hades silently hoped Alessio would answer her questions.
